The Portland Naughty Dogs - NPPL Super 7
The Portland Naughty Dogs have consistently been one of the most competitive teams in the NPPL Super 7. The Portland Naughty Dogs ranked as high as 7 in the NPPL Boston open at Gillette stadium, one of the major NPPL Super 7 season events. In this event, the Naughty Dogs fought ferociously for the number 1 ranking against the Miami Rage. The final rankings for these events were the Rage in first place, followed by the Naughty Dogs, with the Joy Division in third place and the Chicago evil in fourth place.
The NPPL Boston Open final between the Rage and the Portland Naughty Dogs was taken all the way to the third game tiebreaker, when the rage finally pulled away for the tournament victory. The first game between the two teams was decided with neither a flag capture or a flag pull, but with the Rage eliminating the most players. Time expired in the third game with the Rage outlasting the Naughty Dogs, 6 players to 3. The Naughty Dogs struck back in the second game, eliminating more players they and the other team. The rubber match started on a conservative now, with both teams showing a lot of respect for one another. Both teams at first moved cautiously up the field, and the Naughty Dogs were the first to eliminate opposing players. But the Rage began to take back control of the game, evening up the player counts and taking some key bunkers in the process. In the final minutes of the game, the Rage had three remaining players, while the dogs were down to their last man. But even though the odds seemed overwhelming, Raymond Knuth of the Portland Naughty Dogs still manages to fight back against all odds. In the end, Raymond Knuth fought bravely, but the rage got the victory, winning their first ever Super 7 event in this stunning finally.
