At the 2006 NPPL Commanders Cup, the teams in competition included the London Nexus, Chicago Evil, Saint Louis Avalanche, Oakland Blast, and Los Angeles infamous. There were a number of teams that battled it out for first, second, and third place in this event, but after the final paintball was fired, Dynasty won the cup and the series. It took up to the last moments in the third game tiebreaker for Dynasty to overcome the Stockholm Joy Division. With a lot of skill and a little bit of luck, Dynasty beat the Sacramento XSV to catapult themselves into the final match against the Joy Division. In the fight for third place, XSV defeated the Naughty Dogs to take third in the event. This event featured the Joy Divisions continued dominance with their third consecutive appearance in the NPPL finals match. The London Nexus finished in seventh place in the NPPL Commander's Cup, scoring a cumulative 437 points for a 54.63 point average.
Other winning teams from the Commander's Cup include the Miami Raiders from the semi-pro division, the San Diego aftermath from Division 1, the XSV Influence from Division 2, and the Splat kids taking first place in Division 3.
The NPPL Huntington Beach finals included some hotly contested battles from all divisions. In the professional division XSV took on dynasty in the finals match. The London Nexus only scored a handful of points in this event, grabbing sixteenth place with three points. The Huntington Beach event was co-produced by the NPPL and Pure promotions. The Huntington Beach finals was the second event of the NPPL season.
The NPPL Super 7 had a major tournament in Tampa bay for the third year in a row. The Tampa Bay paintball event was held at Raymond James Stadium in Tampa Bay, Florida. The Tampa Bay site is ideal for its warm weather, and close proximity to local hotels and media outlets interested in broadcasting the event. Raymond James Stadium is a huge sports complex that has hosted championship paintball events, pro football's Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and the New Year's Day Outback Bowl. On May 19th though, the only projectiles flying through the air were paintballs. There were a series of events that took place around the event, with the event kicking off on Friday, May 9, 2006. More than fifty five of the elite makers of paintball products set up booths to show off their latest markers and marker specific accessories. As always, the San Diego Dynasty and the Sacramento XSV battled into the finals, with the London Nexus taking 16th place.
