Chicago Aftershock - NXL
The Chicago Aftershock of the NXL are a very successful program with sponsors like ST Shocktech, Bad Boy Toyz, and Badlandz Paintball. The Chicago Aftershock are a successful paintball team of the NXL, with many tournament victories in tournament games like the President's Cup, the NXL Playoffs in Orlando, and the Commissioner's Cup. Other NXL teams include the Baltimore Trauma, Boston Red Legion, Detroit Strange, Los Angeles Ironmen and Miami Effect. Other NXL teams like the New York Xtreme, Oakland Assassins, Philadelphia Americans, and San Diego Legacy also compete in NXL Championship games.
The Chicago Aftershock in early 2007 were coached by Renick Miller and Bea Youngs. Some players on the active roster include Robert Plum, Ryan Williams, Mike Carey, Frank Zeffram, Blake Pruitt, and Paul McCord. Current players on the active roster include Jeremy Salm, Mikey Nicholson and Paul McCord. Paul McCord is a valuable addition to the Chicago Aftershock, Paul McCord is a very experienced player, having already played for the Thunder, Lockout, Fusion and Freak Factory. Other stars on the Chicago Aftershock include Blake Pruitt, Darcy S. and Nick Matthews. Nick Matthews is a 3 year veteran competitive tournament paintball and admires Angel Fraigoza for his paintball style and determination. Aaron Tholey, Damian Ryan, and Brian Rose also contribute to many aftershock tournament victories. Damien Ryan at 18 years of age, is young but also very experienced. Damien Ryan has also played for Diesel, DS9, the San Diego Aftermath, Voltage, and the ICU Rattlesnakes.
The Chicago Aftershock have drawn a lot of attention to themselves with their tournament championship and a loyal fan following; along with this fan support has come a demand for all gear associated with the team. The Aftershock have an online store, www.teamaftershock.com/store.htm, with a wide range of gear that includes cases of paintballs, Sandanar, T-Shirts, Aftershock Official Jerseys, and an Aftershock Shocktech DM6 marker. The Aftershock Shocktech DM6 is a high end marker manufactured by ST Shocktech. The DM6 has a customized laser engraved Chicago Aftershock logo, Shocktech In-Line Regulator, and a Shocktech clamping feed neck. The Chicago Aftershock Sandara is an excellent made to protect the head and neck of a player in tournament games. The Sandana is made with camouflage coloring and includes the embroidered Aftershock logo on the front.
The team players are grateful for all that the game has given them. In October 2006, the team held a player clinic to pass on some of the knowledge that they have learned. The clinic was held at Badlandz Paintball Field in October 2006. The team have competed in some of the industries biggest events, including the World Cup at Disney World, the Mid-Atlantic Open at PBC Sprots Park, and the Chicago Open at the Baling Brook Rec Center. The Chicago Aftershock practice primarily at the Badlandz Paintball Field.
