California Ironmen - NPPL
The California Ironmen are a competitive team in the NPPL. Other NPPL professional teams include the A Team, San Diego Dynasty, Stockholm Joy Division, the Miami Rage, and the Sacramento XSV. The Ironmen played in various NPPL events in 2006, including Huntington Beach Ca, Tampa Florida, Boston Massachusetts, San Diego California, and Las Vegas Nevada. The California Ironmen are one of 18 professional teams who will be competing in the NPPL Super 7 World Series. Other pro franchises who will compete for the championship in the NPPL Super 7 will include the Chicago Evil and the St. Louis Avalanche. The St. Louis Avalanche are also affiliated with Warped, the makers of edgy clothing and paintball products. In addition to the 18 professional NPPL programs, NPPL tournaments best games for 18-36 Semi-Professional teams. While teams like the California Ironmen help to make the NPPL the league it is today, they also focus their energies on the next generation of professional athletes. The NPPL also has 36 Amateur Division 1 Teams, 54-72 Division II Teams in Novice class, and 63-72 Division II Rookie teams.

NPPL Games that feature the California Ironmen can be seen on ESPN. ESPN was on hand to film segments from the US Paintball Championships which were held in April 2006.
Professional Classification. Any player who was ranked as a professional in the 2005 or 2006 season and played in at least one professional NPPL tournament will be re-classified as a professional for the 2007 season. Any player who was a professional in the 2006 season but did not compete in any 2006 pro games will be re-classified as a semi - professional for the 2007 season. Semiprofessional teams may have a maximum of two professional athletes on their roster. Division 1 teams may not have any professionals on their roster, but they may have 2 semi-pro players. Division II teams may not happen and pros force me - rose on their roster. Division II teams can have two Division 1 teams on their roster. Only Division III players may compete in Division III events. After competing in three Division III events, division three players are re-classified as Division II players.
The San Diego Dynasty ranked as the number one professional team at the end of the 2006 season. The California Ironmen ranked 6th for the season, behind the San Diego Dynasty, Sacramento XSV, Stockholm Joy Division, Miami Rage, and New York NRG. The Ironmen ranked in the top ten in three of the five major events, and scored a total of 68 points for the season, just behind the New York NRG., who scored a cumulative 69 points.
Scoring and Rankings. Teams like the California Ironmen may score up to 100 points for each game. At the end of each event, teams are given an event ranking. At the end of the season, points are totaled for each team, and the teams are given a season ranking. Players can score a maximum of 100 points for each game. Seven players from each team are on the field for each game. If none of the team players have been eliminated at the end of the game, they are awarded 7 points. Teams are awarded 3 points for every player they shoot on the opposing team. Teams are awarded 40 points for hanging the opponent's flag first, and 32 for snatching the opponent's flag first.
