Shoot Effectively | Paintball Strategy
A paintball strategy usually includes all of the player's or team's pre-planned tactics that they will use to complete the objective or win the game. A tactic is a play of action that a player will use in a game situation towards evading elimination, scoring points, collecting trophies, and eliminating the enemy. A player or team will select a paintball strategy based on the teammates they have near them, the alignment of the opposition, and the format of the game being played. Players will have different strategies when playing on flat surfaces and airball bunkers as opposed to rough natural terrains with a lot of steep inclines. Players will also have different strategies when playing 3 on 3 tournament games as opposed to 10 on 10 matches. A player's environment and the level of competition teams are facing as well as many other factors will affect the strategy paintball players will use to win the game. Teams and players that are effective in competitive games have a planned and studied paintball strategy that they will use when going into games. Many of the strategies and tactics mentioned in this article are often rooted in military tactics. Some of the main components of the player's game involve the way they move, the way they shoot, and the way they coordinate moves with their other teammates. Players have to learn how to shoot to take out the opposition, and they will need to work well with their teammates to stay alive through the key moments in the game.
Shooting. To be effective in games, players will need to learn how to shoot effectively, and they will need to practice between games to help their team. To prove shooting accuracy and effectiveness between games, players will practice shooting drills such as Snap Shooting and practicing shooting games such as Follow Me, Reach for the Top, and Long Shot. Shooting drills will help players to improve on their accuracy and help them get a feel for their ranges of accuracy. This means the players can use these drills and games to get a feel for how far they can get from an opponent and still make accurate shots. Consistently shooting at a target that is out of a players range is a waste of energy and time.
One common shooting strategy in games is to rapid fire at the enemy whose profile is partially exposed outside the bunker. This tactic of steadily shooting at a particular player also known as painting the enemy back. Once the player has receded entirely behind the bunker to avoid elimination, a player will then continue to advance towards him until they are close enough to mark him. This tactic is often described as bunkering.
Many of the most important strategies involve how to move and play as a player goes between bunkers or out in the open. Players often move between bunkers when they can get a better shooting angle on their opponents.
