Street BMX
BMX is an exciting series of games, as it features dirt races, high flying jumps, and half pipe verticals. BMX is a sport that was invented by riders who would perform stunts on their own likes over stair railings, park benches, curbs and parking lot islands. This is a great game that features gifted athletes who use their speed, flexibility and creativity to execute stunts like the tail whip, and other tricks that people have never even seen before. There are several different BMX events, including the track race, the dirt competition, and acrobatic or freestyle BMX. Freestyle BMX involves 3 disciplines, flatland, street, and half pipe.

Street BMX. Street BMX is the style of BMX where the rider stunts most resemble the type of stunts you would see a BMXer perform in the street. Street BMX is a man made course. The street course is very large as it must include large enough flat spaces for a rider to have enough of a runway to accelerate to speeds where they can perform stunts such as the back flip. The Street BMX arena consists of a hard flat surface under obstacles such as the fun box, box jump, staircase, hip, wall ride transition, and spine. This is a sport that started on the street, where riders would use any obstacles that they had available to them.
Competition/Competitive Events
The Street BMX competition consists of a qualifying round and a final. In the qualifying round, a rider has 2 passes which are scored by judges on a point system. IN each pass, the rider is given 1:30 minutes where he performs a series of tricks in a routine of his design. The rider can perform any number of tricks at any series of obstacles he wishes to in the 1:30. During their performance, riders will be judged and scored based on the degree of difficulty of stunts, how well the tricks executed, and how original the performance is. The judges score the riders on a 0 to 100 scale, with 100 being a flawless performance.
Between the two passes, the rider's best score is recorded, and his best score is compared against the best score of the other riders. The20 top ranked cyclists then advance to a finals round, where they have 3 more passes lasting 1:30 min. There are two categories of tricks in these events, jumps and grinds. Jumps are done with the obstacles that are bordered by ramps where a rider will ride up one side of the obstacle, leap into the air while performing a stunt, and land on the other ramped end of the obstacle. One example of a jump would be the back flip over the fun box. In this stunt, the rider approaches the fun box at high speed. Standing on the pedals, the rider pulls the handlebars back as he launches himself high over the obstacle. The rider then continues his flip as he throws his head back and arches his back. When he approaches the other side of the obstacle, he lands with his front tire first and legs semi-straight to absorb the impact.
Other street BMX tricks include the grind, which consist of sliding the bicycling on its foot pegs on the coping of an obstacle or on a staircase. BMX and speedball paintball arenas are both manmade courses.
