Dodgeball - Games
Dodgeball is one of number of fun and exciting sports games that are played every day around the globe. Dodgeball and paintball are both fun games where players try to avoid getting hit with a ball this launched at an opponent. In both games, a player is eliminated by getting hit by the ball. One of the key differences between the two games is that in dodgeball, when a player catches a ball that is thrown at him, he is not eliminated. Both sports are played by the young and old alike, and both sports have leagues and tournaments designed around their games. In paintball, there are leagues like the National Collegiate Paintball Association. In dodgeball, there are leagues like the Denver Dodgeball Leagues. Both leagues have a set of guidelines and rules to promote player safety, and both encourage fair play and fast moving games and action.

Dodgeball Games: Dodgeball is a unique and cherished American sport, it is popular because of its simplicity and because nearly every American has played the game at one time. Though there are many variations to this game, all versions involve two teams where one player tries to throw a dodgeball at someone, while another player tries to miss it. The game involves players from two teams, and players are eliminated by getting hit by a dodgeball. If a player catches the dodgeball that is thrown at him, he is still in the game. If a player is struck by a dodgeball that then lands on the ground, they he is out of the game. In many dodgeball games, multiple balls are play at any one time, but in some games, only one dodgeball is used. Most of these games are games of total elimination, and the game ends when one player or team remains. A game usually begins with players from both sides of a court starting the game on opposite sides of the midline. The referee or game official places all the balls in the game at the midline. When the players hear the game on signal, they run towards the midline, and the first players there get the ball(s). Unlike games like paintball speedball, players from the two teams must remain on their own side for the entire match. If any player goes over the line, then they are eliminated from the game.
Variations to the Game of Dodgeball: In many games of dodgeball, the only way to eliminate an opponent is to hit the other player with a dodgeball that then hits the ground. In another variation of the game a player is eliminated if he throws a ball that is caught by the other team. In additional variations of the game, catching a dodgeball this is thrown at them brings a single teammate back into the game. In still another version of the game, catching a ball this thrown at them eliminates the thrower and brings a member of the home team back into the game.
There are other versions of the game of dodgeball where eliminated players can make their way back into the game. In one game format, a player who is hit, instead of leaving the court, sits down at the exact spot where they were hit. This frozen player must remain motionless and may not do anything that could influence game events. If one of their teammates catches a ball thrown at them from the other team, they are back in the game, and the thrower must sit down. This game format is very similar to the paintball game Down But Not Out, where a tagged player can be brought back into the game by a teammate who taps him on the top of the head.
