800 Meter and 1,500 Meter
The 800 meter and the 1,500 meter are the first races, going higher in distance, where all the runners compete for the same two lanes on the inside of the track. During these two matches, the runners must run the two races in the shortest time possible. The closest past relative to the race was the half mile (805 meters) first run in 1896. The 805 meter half mile was run for the first time at the men's track and field championships in 1871. The women's 800 meter was first run at the Amsterdam Olympics in 1928. The women's 800 meter was included as an official Olympic event in Rome, 1960. The 1,500 meter ace is the metric equivalent of the mile (1,609 meters). The mile was run in England in the later half of the 19th century. Because you have a lot of men competing for the same 2 tracks in fiercely competitive races, there is an inevitable amount of elbowing, bumping, pushing, and kicking in the 800 meter and has been included as an official Olympic event.

Running the 1,500 meter and 800 meter
The 800 meter and 1,500 meter are not all out sprints like the 400 meter and 100 meter. The runners in these meets must pace themselves. As such, the 8 race runners do not start either race on starting blocks. In the 800m, the runners draw lots to see where they will start in the race. The runners start on a curved starting line, with the runner in the inside lane the furthest behind. At the start of the race, all 8 runners break towards the inside 2 lanes of the track. The further a runner is from the inside lane, the further he has to run to get to the finish line. In the 1,500 meter, a maximum of 12 runners line up at a curved starting line. The line is curved so that the runners on the outside lanes run the same distance as those closer to the inside.
Running Strategy.
One good tactic in running these long races is to travel behind one of the lead runners in order to decrease the amount of wind resistance you are running against. By following another runner very closely, the wind resistance reduction could save you several seconds over the course of the race. The lowered wind resistance could also save you enough energy to make a great run at the end of the race. In some races, "rabbits" are used in the race, to set a very fast pace, and set the stage for excellent times or maybe a world record. The rabbit in the race runs out in front of the pack, setting a pace that will be impossible to maintain. The name "the rabbit" is derived from a famous fairy tale about a rabbit who starts out too fast, but cannot finish the race
.
The runners of the 800 meter and the 1,500 meter have two possible strategies going into the race. The athletes will start out aggressive in order to take the early lead and try to maintain it the entire race. Or the racer may decide to stay back in the middle of the pack and conserve his energy for a powerful finishing drive. The runner that stays back in the middle of the pack has less wind resistance to run against.
The 1,500 meter, 800 meter, and paintball are three athletic events that have a lot in common, including intense physical endurance and competitive action.
