Speedball Skills & Tactics
The game of speedball includes indoor or outdoor rectangular paintball fields and two halves of a field that have an identical arrangement of bunkers. Speedball fields are composed of semi or permanent man-made bunkers, or portable inflatable bunkers that can be moved around on fields so that original bunker arrangements can be made on the fly. Some different types of inflatable bunkers include the half moon and the beam, two bunkers that are sorter than a player. On short bunkers like these, players either shoot from over the tops of these bunkers, or they lay down and shoot from around the sides of the bunkers. Players, depending on the arrangement of bunkers, the types of bunkers on the field, and the alignments of enemy players will need to employ different speedball skills and tactics to succeed. Players will need to use these various skills and tactics to get by in tournaments like the Sup' Air bowl in St. Cloud Minnesota and the Millennium Series in Europe. Many Speedball skills and tactic are designed for multiple player formations, since one player is much more likely to stay alive while moving down the field if he has another player backing him up, and laying down paint. On most speedball fields, players will be close enough to all see each other.

The playing section of the field consists of two equal halves with an equal number of bunkers on both sides of the field. In high profile speedball tournaments like Bunkerfest and the CXBL the fields are either green grass or turf. The bunkers at high profile speedball tournaments are almost always inflatable bunkers.
