The Smoke Screen - Smokescreen
In the new era of paintball and action sports, scenario games added new dimensions to games. One new weapon/feature to paintball scenario games is the smoke screen. The smoke screen is one a number of new weapons from the second generation of paintball. In the first generation, it was enough to simply blast someone out of the game with your paintball gun. The second generation of paintball offers scenario games simulating historical wars like the Battle of Gettysburg, and the Battle of the Bulge during World War II. Some paintball toys from these simulated war conditions include glow in the dark paintballs for night games, paint mines, paint grenades, and other booby traps. Some scenario games have even grown to include over 100 simulated soldiers on each side for events that take place over days (not hours). The Smoke Screen is the latest toy among this second generation of paintball action.

Shift the momentum of the game in your team's direction by popping a smoke screen. A number of objectives con be accomplished by setting off a smoke screen at just the right time. First, the element of surprise can work to your team's advantage. If you time the smoke screen just right, you and your teammates will be ready for just the moment when it is about to go off. While your opponents are confused and disoriented, you will have just the right amount of time to fire off a few killer shots or move into a strategic position.
If you set off a smokescreen in just the right position, your opponents will be caught inside the smoke screen while you will have a full visual from the outside. Your team will then have the chance to move into position round the enemy and fire elimination shots when they step out. Or you can use this positional advantage to move up the field and capture the flag.
For safety reason, never throw a smoke screen directly at the opposing players, just in front of them, or near them. Also check with the field manager on duty before introducing smoke grenades or smoke screens into the game. Some fields may strictly prohibit the use of smoke screens that may cause fires in dry climates or prohibit all smoke screens all together. Read over the user manual on your smoke screen kit and understand the technology before introducing the smoke screen into game action.
While the smoke screen can be a valuable tool for victory on the paintball field, make sure you research and test the technology before using it in game action. First, make sure you don't set, off the smoke screen within 10 feet of an opposing player. Some burn very hot and cause discomfort to the player.
