Mines, Bombs, Grenades - Scenario Paintball Games
While mines, bombs, and grenades would be foreign objects on speedball fields, they fit right in on scenario paintball fields. Scenario games give paintball games the look and feel of real military situations. To aid these military situations, players wear military style clothing and use paintball guns that closely resemble military machine guns. In addition to Milsim (military simulation) markers, many other types of toys are used that are exclusive to scenario fields. These unique weapons include mines, bombs, grenades, and smoke screens. When activated, these paintball weapons let out a cloud of paint that is designed to eliminate the closest players, and to surprise other players and temporarily obstruct their field of vision. Other military simulation weapons that are sometimes used in scenario games include military smoke dynamite. Unlike the real mines, bombs, and grenades, these contraptions only produce non-toxic puffs of paint spray, and do not do anything that would cause a player to get injured.

Real Action Paintball is a giant in the paintball industry, producing scenario-specific paintball weapons. One of their best products is the RAP4 Pressure Activated Landmine. This Pressure Activated Landmine is tripped when an unsuspecting player steps on it. This landmine system is lightweight and small, making it easy to transport and conceal, and very difficult to avoid stepping on. The RAP4 Pressure Activated Landmine is about 4" wide and 1" high, giving it a low profile to the ground and making it difficult for opposing players to detect and avoid. This landmine is powered by a 10 gram CO2 reservoir in the center of the mine. When an object puts the slightest pressure on the mine, the CO2 releases a blast of air that forces a blast a paint spray up and out in all directions. Though the smoke spray experienced by the players in the immediate area is actually liquid paint, it is designed to look like a real smoke screen. The cloud of paint is safe and non-toxic, and will not cause any harm if inhaled or introduced into a player's eyes.
The RAP4 Pressure Activated Landmine has sometimes been used in scenario events like RISK The World: Armies in Time at complexes such as Bearclaw Paintball in Fayetteville Tennessee. Other mine/bomb/grenade devices that are popular for use in scenario games include the Master Landmine and the RAP4 Smoke Bomb. The RAP4 Smoke Bomb is a barrel of paint with a fuse that can be lit and thrown with a delayed ignition in order to give the thrower a chance to flee. This RAP4 Smoke Bomb operates like a stick of dynamite that you may see people use in the movies. To set off this device, players open the lid, insert a fuse, and then light the fuse. Shortly after lighting the fuse, the 16 ounce barrel sprays a thick cloud of paint around the area that the smoke bomb is thrown, dropped, or placed. The RAP4 Smoke Bomb sprays paint 25 feet in all directions.
