Mechs
Mechs are another name for paintball armored vehicles. Mechs are also referred to as paintball tanks or PAVs. Usually paintball tanks are a prop used in scenario games, otherwise known as Milsim games. Mechs are probably the most feared props or machines in any paintball game, as the guns on some of these vehicles are capable of firing as many as 500 paintballs per second. Some Mechs are vehicles that have been modified for paintball games, while others are made specifically for the sport. Mechs and other scenario markers and gear have been used at scenario events like OA Paintballs Battle of the Bulge III and Pyro paintballs NJ Nam.

There are a couple of companies that make Mechs that were originally designed for paintball. These paintball tanks are relentless, protecting the shooter on the second level of this vehicle with a netting that allows him to keep on shooting. Special Ops paintball has created a Razorback Paintball tank that has two levels, one level for the driver and a higher level for the shooter. The hopper for this machines two barreled gun holds up to 5000 paintballs, and can unleash a blaze of 30 paintballs per second. The operator at the mechs shooting tower controls twin Tippman A-5 Double Trouble Gatlins. The Tippmann system at the service of the operator is automatic, unleashing 8 paintballs for each pull of the trigger. Players who do not get out of the way of this vehicle will be getting paint stains on their uniform. Other markers and marker accessories available from Special Ops Paintball include the A-5 MP Mag to Remote kit, F.O.6. Tubular Foregrip w/rails, A05 M249 Air-through Saw Stock, and Fusion Head Wrap.
Mechs are often used as one prop in scenario games that feature a large number of players. But there are actually some paintball games in the world that exclusively feature battles between tanks. These paintball battles are called tank ball, with Mechs that are custom designed to fire rounds of paintballs at each other. All the players in these games are either inside the tank or operating a gun on top of the tank. Tankball armored vehicles are usually full size tanks. Most tankball skirmishes are one on one battles between two tanks. Most tankball Mechs have three players inside, with one driver and one shooter. Because of the technology and expense involved, this game is not played in too many places, but the game has taken hold in England. Tankball UK is an informative website with tankball pictures, videos, and apparel dedicated to this discipline. Tanks Katy Paintball LLC is one paintball field that has scenario games that feature Mechs.
