APV - Armored Paintball Vehicle
APV, or Armored Paintball Vehicle, is usually used in scenario paint games, and sometimes in recreational paintball. Scenario paintball strives to give its players many adventures and field owners put in a lot of productive hours to create props to make the game as realistic as they can. Scenario paintball games usually revolve around a central theme that reflects historical events or imaginary ventures. Scenario paintball games are based on a theme or famous historical event. Since the game of paintball involves shooting eliminations, the scenario paintball themes naturally often revolve around historical military battles. These military battles often have paintball generals and paintball soldiers on both sides of the battlefield trying to accomplish objectives, and trying to win the battles. Some scenario games reflect World War II events such as the Battle of the Bulge, and some of these paintball war battlefields have props for the game, including lookout towers, paint grenades, a smokescreen, the pistol, and the APV Armored Paintball Vehicle. The book, Advanced Scenario Paintball by Don "Badger" Grubish lists some tips for creating your own scenario events. The book, Advanced Scenario Paintball, is available online and Paintball GI. The book and website mentioned above offer tips for building and buying necessary gear for your scenario games, including the APV Armored Paintball Vehicle.

The APV is an acronym for Armored Paintball Vehicle. Some APVs are very high end models that can travel across land, and even water. Some APVs even come equipped with mounted markers or even weapons called a LAW. A LAW launcher is designed like a spud gun, and their function is to fire solot rounds or Lava Rocks at the opposition. A Lava Rock is a foam projectile that can be fired at the enemy from the armored paintball vehicle. Lava Rockets are a little less than 3 inches in diameter, and can fit into the handle of the LAW Launcher. Usually the Law Rockets can only be shot once in scenario games.
The APV is a popular tool in the game scenario paintball. Players can cover a lot of ground in the APV, use the vehicle as a source of cover, or even make eliminations mounted markers. Other scenario props include electronic bugs, underground bunkers, and paintball rocket launchers. Many scenario paintball games can involve hundreds of people, and the games are highly structured with paintball generals and clear objectives to accomplish.
Every year, there are several famous scenario events, including the Oklahoma D-Day, a yearly event that takes place over an entire week. Oklahoma D-Day has a huge series of planned events, and mission objectives every year, and an event schedule that includes battles featuring the U.S. 1st Infantry Division for the Allies, and the German Airborn Operations from the East enemies. The APV Armored Paintball Vehicle is sometimes featured in these military conflicts.
