Sniper Paintball Equipment and Gear
Paintball scenario games involve a lot more characters that occur over very large fields for events that can take several days. Usually scenario games feature two large teams that can sometimes number in the hundreds. These large teams are broken into several smaller groups, these groups are sometimes called squads. These groups often have individual objectives that they must accomplish to earn points for the larger teams. As these large teams are sectioned off into smaller groups, player positions became more and more specialized. One paintball player often associated with Woodsball and scenario paintball is the paintball sniper. The paintball sniper is a player who shoots from some point of concealment, they remain motionless for the majority of the game and try to eliminate players from relatively long distances. Player sniper positions are often utilized at scenario events like the UForce Monster Game 2007 at Hell Survivors Paintball and Independence Day-Return of the Aliens at Raging Tiger Paintball.

The paintball sniper has two jobs to do to make eliminations and stay in the game to keep firing. To be effective, the sniper must be able to take shots at the enemy while being careful not to give away his position. That means he must be quiet, he must be able to shoot while remaining still, and he must be able to hit targets from pretty long distances. To accomplish these goals, the sniper must have in his arsenal the necessary sniper paintball equipment and gear. The appropriate sniper paintball equipment and gear is designed to keep the player and his profile as inconspicuous as possible. The colors of the marker and uniform should mimic these seen in the environments, and the marker should have a much smaller profile than you would usually see on speedball markers.
The sniper paintball gun above all should have great range and accuracy. The further away you can take a high percentage shot at the enemy, the less likely your opponent will be able to see or hear you. Paintball snipers choose markers know for their long range accuracy and also one that are quiet. To improve shooting accuracy, sniper barrels and often long. Players who use sniper guns should clean the gun and barrel after every game.
The sniper barrel is often as important as the marker. Players usually choose a sniper barrel between 12-19 inches in length. There is little evidence that barrels longer than 14 inches improves long range accuracy. The most accurate barrels are solid for the first 8-10 inches, and parted for the next 2-4 inches to reduce the noise the paintball gun makes when it fires. The barrel should have a matte black, brown, or camo finish, and not be shiny or stand out colors that give away your position.
