Operation: Urgent Fury. 26 Hour Scenario
Operation: Urgent Fury is a 26 hour scenario event that takes place yearly at EMR Paintball Park. Scenario paintball games are played on large fields, and are usually 24 hour affairs. EMR Paintball Park is a popular park with a regular schedule for paintball games as well as tournaments and scenario games throughout the year. Many scenario events that take place during the year are based on real life military events as is the case with Operation urgent Fury. Operation Urgent Fury was the codename for the Invasion of Grenada, and it pitted democratic countries like the United States against the communist countries Grenada and Cuba. In this military conflict, the US and other North American countries charged into Grenada from the air and sea to topple the government of communist Bernard Coard. This event marked one of the United Sta4es most successful military events of the Cold War, and was a clear victory for the sons of democracy. This event today is celebrated and simulated as a scenario paintball event called Operation: Urgent Fury: 26 hour Scenario, at EMR paintball Park in Millford, Pennsylvania. EMR has a number of facilities and fields that are ideal for hosting large scenario games.

Operation: Urgent Fury is an event ut together by Michael "Blue" Hanse, co-owner of EMR, and Kerry "Viper" Rosenberry. Kerry Viper" Rosenberry is one of the best promoters of scenario games in the industry, and is excellent in collaborating with paintball field owners towards putting together big events.
Operation: Urgent Fury was held on August 5th and 6th 2006. This event is popular as one of the biggest successes in American Military history. In the actual event, the United States surged into the Caribbean Island of Grenada to restore democracy to the country. Allied with the United States in this conflict were St. Vincent, Saint Luca, Jamaica, Dominica, Barbados, and Antiqua and Barbuda. This decision to invade Grenada was in response to the overthrow of the previous pro-US Government led by Eric Gairy. On March 13th, 1979 a group of insurgents led by Maurice Bishop and Bernard Coard toppled the government and began setting up airports and bases that the US feared would jeopardize national security. After a swift military build up and coalition with countries in the Organization of Eastern Caribbean States, the US surged the country. The US feared that the establishment of a second communist country in the Caribbean would further Russian influence in the area, and possibly give the Soviet Union another platform for setting up missiles aimed at the United States.
Operation Urgent Fury is a great event for re-creation in scenario paintball games because it marks one of America's greatest Cold War victories. The operation came less than years after one of Americans greatest defeats, the Vietnam War. Some of EMR's fields and forts used in these games include their Castle AAARGH, Stilt Village, and Fort Blues Crew. Fort Blues Crew is a nearly 150 foot long stockade fort with 2 ramparts along each wall. If the attackers of this fort do manage to break through the outer walls, they must then face a legion of defenders from a 25 foot blockhouse and an additional 17 buildings in its interior.
