Be a Winning Paintball General
To be a winning paintball general, players must possess a number of winning qualities. A personal trainer for the New England Patriots said that his job was to take is athletes to a place that they wouldn't be able to get to alone. The job of trainers, coaches, and leaders on the field is to make players the best possible athletes on the field. Sometimes being the best coach a player/caption means working them into the best physical condition. Sometimes coaches and captains run their teams through countless drills and practices to put their players in a position to win on the field. Sometimes the best winning paintball general is the team leader on the field, and will his teammates to victory by leading by example. Some times the best team leaders instill confidence in their teammates by telling them they will not accept losing.

"Keep away from people who try to belittle your ambitions. Small people always do that, but the really great ones make you feel that you too, can become great." Mark Twain
While the best players, coaches, and captains all have a natural ability, they all have met their potential as players and leaders through hard work, training, and dedication. Some of the captains and coaches from the NPPL's most successful programs include Doc Draper from the Jacksonville Raiders, Greg Pawley of the St. Louis Avalanche, and Rocky Knuth, of the Portland Naught Dogs. The Portland Naughty dogs also include Bw Dunn as General Manager, Trevor Hocking, Cory Fieed, Mark Kolek, and Drew Robertson. Rocky Knuth as the winning paintball general has led his team to tournament championships in the NPPL, PSP, and NXL. Rocky has scored countless player eliminations with his Naught Dogs Shocker, and his tam victory have inspired the support of corporate sponsors like Draxxus, Smart Parts, and Nox. The Dogs are as generous with their time, hosting paintball clinics to teach the younger generation paintball tactics such as field walking basic and advanced gun skills, snap shooting, and sweet spotting.
Winning team leaders have strong leadership skills, and do whatever it takes to get their players ready for upcoming games. Part of a winning paintball generals team preparation includes player practices. In these practices, players will not just be run through skill building drills, but all the things that they might see in an actual game. In your private practice, the team coach or leaders can come up with different game situations to watch how your players adopt, reach, anticipate, and improvise. They can play out any scenario or stop a scenario at any time for immediate coaching. Some of paintball's top professional coaches and captains have included Bart Monroe of Less than Zero Paintball, and Rob Landry of The New England Hurricane.
Being a winning paintball general means running teams through practice after practice, until the players buy into the game plan and believe in each other.
