Long Range Patrols - LRPs
Long Range Patrols - LRPs are a popular tool for scenario games, among other military themed props like paintball tanks, paintball bazookas, paint grenades, and rocket launchers. Scenario ball is a much more complex game that the speed ball with more players and much bigger fields. On most recreational and tournament fields, the fields are much smaller, and the games are much shorter. With smaller fields and fast games, all the players on the field move quickly, and opposing player5s are often within shooting range of each other. With players playing so close to each other, each player must possess the skill of a back player, mid paler, or front player, as the format of the game requires players to be very multidimensional.

In scenario ball, however, the role of the individual players can be much more differentiated, with players like snipers, generals, executive officers. Also, the weaponry in the Big Game and scenario paintball may also be mush more diverse, with the exotic weapons like the paintball pistol, MKX Launchers, and Long Range Patrols - LRPs. Scenario Players also wear different styles of paintball clothing than in other disciplines like tournament speedball. Scenario players often use BDUs. BDUs are a type of clothing commonly used by scenario players. First used by the U.S. Military in events like Vietnam and the Korean War, these pants and shirts are very durable and found in military surplus stores at a very reasonable cost. BDUs have the familiar camouflage designs that you often see. The camouflage colors are similar to the natural colors you would see I n a woods environment. The camo colors of the BDUs are designed to make the soldier of paintball player more difficult to see. BDUs can be bought at most army surplus stores, but some paintball manufacturers make paintball jerseys and clothing with the familiar camo style. The Spyder Camo Jersey from Kingman is available in the color camo, with the Spyder logo and brand name across the front. Also, the Bushlan Camo jersey from paintball predator is designed with colors specific to a paintball playe5rs natural woodsball environment, making it very difficult for the opposing players to see him.
Long Range Patrols - LRP's. Long Range Patrols are tactical operations that are exclusive to scenario paintball games, where a small section of the forces travel a far distance to gather information or accomplish some objective in enemy territory. Some scenario teams that have gone on CRP's have included the 7 Deadly Lemons, Caltrop Guerrillas, and BMF Renegades. Long Range Reconnaissance Patrols ere a useful tool is military conflicts like the Gulf War I where a small group of Army Rangers would infiltrate enemy lines to gather information, and then report back to their commanders. LRPs are preferred when the objective of the mission is information, not a full on assault. These units are used for finding hostages and assessing the strength of the enemy.
