The Paintball Padding Controversy
There is some controversy between the members of the paintball community when it comes to paintball padding. These people feel like they just want to enjoy the game, and do not want to go home with any bruises. Players like this will be more likely to want to wear paintball padding, and they won't feel like it is taking anything away from the game. Other players feel like players wearing extra padding are cheating because paintball's that hit them are less likely to break, thus giving them an unfair advantage. Still others feel like players who wear padding are wimps, and look down on them as opponents and potential teammates. Where does the truth lie? As always the truth is probably somewhere in the middle, but all players are encouraged to wear whatever they feel is necessary to protect themselves from injury. The protective clothing or padding that a player decides to where may depend on the game format and field conditions that the player is participating in. Some products that players are encouraged to use during games include products such as the Era Paintball Neoprene Neck protector, Raven Throat protector, and Black Star Paintball Impact Cap.

Is the player just trying to protect himself, or is he trying to keep paintball's from breaking against his uniform? If that player had confidence in his game and the ability of his teammates, why would he need to put so much padding on? Is the player covering up sensitive areas on his body worries the covering up the lack of confidence in himself or even the lack of courage. No matter what the argument is when the topic of paintball padding comes up, there will always be people advocating for each side.
