GameMaster
A Gamemaster is the referee and official of paintball game variations that take a lot of quick thinking, planning, and placements of certain end apparatures. A Gamemaster smoothly moderates and officiates paintball games that have a large number of players, teams, or rounds in a match. Matches with multiple rounds or games may take far too long or lose their energy if the time between games gets to long or if the organization of pregame events is not sharp. The Gamemaster has a perfect understanding of the rules of the game, and is a good speaker towards explaining them so that every one has a good grasp of the game. Let's take a look at one clever game that requires a sharp Gamemaster for the games to run smoothly, Hold That Flag!

The event Hold That Flag! as a wild variation of the more classic Capture the Flag, but this game involves the wits of a cards hark and the speed and precision of an army ranger. This game has a little bit of everything, including attack and defend themes, super rapid games where all players are rapid firing from the start to end, and a poker style round of bidding before games. Let's take a look at the game Hold That Flag! and take a look at the responsibilities of the Gamemaster towards making thrilling throughout the event.
In the game Hold that Flag! the Gamemaster selects three men among a group who will serve as the captain for three different teams. Each player takes turns picking players until the teams are drawn. Next, the Gamemaster holds a paintball auction that often goes something like this:
- Gamemaster: "Team 1, what's your bid?"
- Captain 1: "Team 1 can Hold That flag for 8 minutes."
- Gamemaster: "Team 2?"
- Captain 2: "Team 2 can Hold That Flag for 10 minutes."
- Game Master: "How about Team 3?"
- Captain 3: "Team 3 can hold it for 12 minutes."
Once a team has selected a highest bid (In minutes, how long they will hold the flag) the Gamemaster then announces "Five minutes to go!" and the two teams with the lower bids retreat 100 yards from the flag station. If Team 3 won the auction with a bid of 12 minutes, then they must keep players from both other teams from touching the flag for 12 minutes. If Team 3 makes a successful defense of the flag, then they earn 2 points. If a player from one of the other teams touches the flag, then Team 1 and Team 2 earn 1 point.
As you can see, it is a bad strategy to select such a high bid number if it is a time that makes it impossible for you to put up a strong defense. Once the flag has been touch of the time expires on the bid number (in minutes) the Game master is there to quickly moderate another bid to start another round in good order. A good Gamemaster may get four rounds an hour. A well moderated match of Hold That Flag! that lasts 8 rounds should take about two and a half hours. To keep a good flow from one game to the next, players have extra cases of paintballs such as Empire Fuel Paintballs nearby.
