Organizing Your Own Paintball Game
If you're sick of having your hat handed to you on the paintball field and are looking to find paintball games within your skill level, try organizing your own private paintball game. Starting new private paintball games are also great team building experiences for corporate events, bachelor parties, and a new way to enjoy some friendly competition between your fiends. Have you been having fun playing paintball but keep seeing the same people every time you go down to your local field? Have you been trying to get your friends into the games that are intimidated by the ferocious games they have seen? Organizing your own game is a great way to get groups of friends at the same level into the game so that they can learn the game at their own pace and avoid newbie hazing.

When organizing your own paintball game, the first thing you must do is find groups of people that are at roughly the same skill level. Most veteran paintball players have little patience with newbies; conversely, most newbies may burn out on the game quickly if they are getting blown up in the first minute in every paintball game.
One favorite pastime associated with paintball is swapping stories about things that happened during the game. John "Cliffhanger" Smith may want to tell of his heroic efforts he made during one battle where he sacrificed his own body for the team to make a path for Bobby to capture the flag. While some of these stories no doubt include some exaggerations, it is important for players to make time to become friends again and reflect on a great day of paintball. Plan on having some food and refreshments set up off the field, or plan on a place for everyone to go out and have dinner after the game.
Show Me The Money. Most paintball fields offer package deals and group rates. When collecting money for a package deal, always collect the money ahead of time. Nothing can build tension in a friendship like money issues can. If you are organizing a game as a team building corporate event, get price quotes as soon into the process as possible. Between renting equipment, buying paintballs, renting the field, and renting the referees, things can get a little pricey.
Make sure to read along the dotted line and try to include as much as possible into your paintball package deal. Package deals vary from field to field. Most paintball package deals include a rental paintgun, goggles with full head protection systems, field time, and refereed matches. If you can, negotiate for a package that also includes camouflage jackets and pants, as well as belts and pouches to hold CO2 cartridges, N2 cartridges, and paintballs. If money is tight for your paintball game, you might decide to choose a stock gun. With these guns, you have to pump the machine before you can fire the next shot. This limits how many paintballs are shot in a given game, lowering the overall budget. Semiautomatics do not have to be pumped and all you have to do is lower the trigger. Semiautomatics are easier to learn how to use and may be more appropriate if your private paintball game has a lot of newbies.
