Eric Garbers - Great Men in Paintball
Eric Garbers is considered one of the great men in paintball, due to his contributions to the game, and his dedication to the industry. Eric Garber began manufacturing paintball gear in 1988, when he made his first 12 inch replaceable machined-aluminum barrel for a Splatmaster. He first made this aftermarket product for himself to increase the accuracy of his Splatmaster paintball gun. When Eric Garbers tested and practiced with this barrel, he was so impressed with the results that he set up his own machine shop to manufacture various paintball parts and gear. For a while, Garber's business grew steadily, until he decided to make a substantial investment and build his own indoor paintball arena. Today Toledo Indoor Paintball is a highly successful indoor field. Eric Garbers is quite a renaissance man and a valuable asset to the industry. In his long paintball career, he has been a manufacturer of paintball parts, a longtime player, and a coach and student of the game. He has managed and trained some of the most successful tournament teams in the industry, including the Tippmann Effect formed in 1999 by Eric Garbers, the Tippmann Effect has competed in division 3 X-Ball with top placement in a number of tournaments.

The Tippmann Effect PSP are a serious program dedicated to representing the brand name proudly, with coaches and players whose work ethic is second to none. The Tippmann Effect adheres to a strict practice schedule that includes snap shooting exercises, and skill building exercises such as REACH For the Top and Follow Me. The players on the Tippmann Effect have at least two practice sessions a week, with each practice session including several hours of cardiovascular exercises, and countless sessions of skill-building drills. Practices at these two a week begin with a two mile jog, followed by strength building exercises, sprints, and three to four hours of drills.
The Tippman Effect, founded by Eric Garbers, competes in several PSP Events every year, and they have been AM Open Champions for two consecutive years. The Effect will compete in a couple regional tournaments and 5 major tournaments this year. The Effect set very high standards for themselves this year, with this years benchmark being a first place ranking in at least one major and a top three seed overall for the season. To maximize their performance potential, the X-Ball team will be using Camouflage A-5's with E-Grips and sniper barrels. Current players on the 2006-2007 roster include Joel Monaco, John Belmont, Eric Kellner, Paul Chinnici, and Travis Carroll. The Tippmann Effect are one of the Tippmann Pneumatics top teams. In 2002, they won the Draxxus International Amateur Open Seven man event in Pittsburgh. At the same Open, they placed second in the first man event.
Eric Garbers formed the Tippmann Effect in 1999 and came up with the team slogan "Shoot'em up". Eric Garbers has also been a player on this same team he has helped to found, though he has conceded more playing times to the younger athletes as he has gotten a little older. When creating his teams, Eric Garbers selects front, middle, and back players according to their strengths and experience level. Eric runs his teams through countless practice drills until they learn how to communicate and support each other at a high level.
