Expansion Chambers
Expansion Chambers are designed to improve the performance of a player's marker. There are several manufacturers that produce expansion chambers, including Trinity Paintball and System X. Some excellent expansion chambers include the PMI Expansion Chamber, LapCo 2 Stage Expansion Chamber, and the Kingman Java Spyder Expansion Chamber Kit. Expansion Chambers are listed in the category of Air Systems and Accessories. Other types of marker gear that are part of air systems include tank covers, stocks, remotes, regulators, gauges, gas through grips, cradles, and drop forwards.

Expansion chambers are designed to provide markers with a consistent flow of air from one shot to the next. With expansion chambers, like the 32 Degrees 2003 Expansion Chamber, players know what to expect from their gun in terms of speed and distance. The more reliable a player's marker is, the better he will be able to perform in big games. Expansion chambers are often added to markers and air systems when players don't find their paintball guns working as well as they would expect. These chambers are often selected when players are having difficulty with their CO2 tanks and marker performance is dropping. This marker accessory connects from the tank to the marker. Expansion chambers like the ACI Sub-Zero 4 Stage Expansion Chamber helps to stabilize the pressure coming to the gun from the tank. This device stabilizes air pressure and offers the player a paintball gun that fires at a more consistent speed. This device is sometimes called an X-chamber. Some X-chambers include the M-16 6 Stage Expansion Chamber Kit from MadDog Designz and the Spiral Expansion Chamber from System X.
Paintball guns fire paintballs down the barrel of the gun when liquid CO2 inside a tank turns into gas, expands, and moves through the interior workings of the marker. The liquid CO2 inside the tank uses the heat from the air to turn into a gaseous state. Even at lower temperatures, the temperature of the air outside the tank is warmer than the liquid CO2 inside the tank. Expansion chambers make it easier for the warmer air to turn the liquid CO2 into a gas with more consistency. The chambers inside the expansion chamber provide room for the CO2 to expand and supply your gun with enough gas volume to launch the projectile.
The Trinity Paintball AK-47 Magazine 6-Stage Expansion Chamber helps markers to fire at the same speeds and distance regardless of the weather conditions. As with most other markers and expansion chambers, there are still some extreme temperatures at which the marker will become unreliable. The AK-47 magazine 6-Stage Expansion Chamber improves the gas efficiency of the marker, and allows the liquid in the tank to expand into a gas before it enters the gun. This will make various components inside the gun last longer, as they will be less stressed by physical factors like liquid CO2 inside the marker.
