XT Tactical Hand Torch
eGear XT Essential Gear has made a really powerful hand torch that can really light up the night or inside of a bunker. Their XT Tactical Hand Torch uses a Luxeon 3-Watt LED, which produces up to 80 lumens of pure white light. The DC/DC regulator maintains a stable light output. These hand torches can fit in the palm of your hand and are much brighter than standard two D-cell flashlights and generate 30 times more light than a standard 5 mm LED. The 3-watt LED bulb is scratch proof and will never need replacing. A crenulated bezel allows you to see fit he light has been left on even when it's face down on a surface. These torches are water resistant and have a high strength aircraft aluminum casting with anodized finish. The XT Tactical Hand Torch is available in two models: Mini PDL and PDL.
The hand torch is one of many products you may need for paintball games that are played at night, or for underlit forts or bunkers where you will need a light source to light your way. An Essential Gear flashlight may be a helpful tool in a paintball game like Hospital. In this game, two medics from each team rescue wounded teammates on the battlefield. In this game, the players are divided into two equally sized teams, with two players in each team designated as the Medic. 4 white armbands go to the 4 Medics from the two teams. All players are allowed to arm themselves with the marker of their choice, but the two medics from each team will be unarmed for the duration of the game. Each team starts the game from opposite ends of the field. Each end of the field represents a MASH Unit or army hospital where the medics are supposed to bring the injured player. Players and medics from both teams wait near the hospital until the game on signal is heard. Hospital is similar to other paintball games, where a player that has been tagged can be brought back into the game. Games like this may be popular on fields like Edge Paintball in Bethel Ohio, and Wolverine Paintball Adventures in Asheville North Carolina.

Other games have players that can tap a downed teammate to bring them back into the game, but in the game hospital the player must be simultaneously touched by both Medics wearing the white armbands. In this game, a tagged player remains where he was tagged until the Medic reaches him. Once tagged the two Medics escort the player back to the hospital area. Once in the hospital area, the players rotate positions. The hit player takes the position of second Medic, the second Medic takes the position of First Medic, and the first Medic becomes an active player. There must always be exactly two medics, no more, no less. If a Medic is eliminated, then an active player must pick up his armband and become a Medic. The first team to accomplish their objective within the time limit wins.
Sometimes the Hospital Format may take place as one objective in a weekend scenario event. If these games go into the night, they may need an Essential Gear PDL hand torch.
