The Cold War is perhaps the most interesting military conflicts in human history, as it was a war that cost millions of lives without the two main participants ever actually declaring war on one another. The two main participants of the cold War were the United States and the . The Cold War started shortly after the conclusion of , a war in which the United States and the Soviet Union were allies. In World War II, the U.S. and the Soviet Union had a common ally in Germany, the main country of the . Towards the end of the war, the two countries converged at Nazi Germany ; at this point, Germany surrendered, and the World War II in Europe. At this point, the US retreated but the Soviets remained, remaking Eastern Europe and parts of the Middle East in their own image. At the conclusion of this war, the US and the Soviet Union emerged as the two biggest super powers in the world. A superpower can have unlimited definitions, but in general a superpower is a country with enough military and political strength to influence world events on all continents. Other countries that today are considered superpowers include India, China and the United Kingdom. Most of the superpowers in the world today have a stockpile of nuclear weapons, bombs capable of decimating an entire population.
Military Conflicts related to the Cold War. The Cold War took place between communist Russia, and Democratic United States. The Cold War spanned many decades, beginning in 1947 and officially ending in 1991. During this time, the Soviets and the United States used their political, financial, and military strength to remake the world in their own image. The United States used their financial influence or military might to spread democracy, while Russia and China used military power to spread communism. In some countries, the superpowers would provide many of military weapons to leaders and army's that would support their style of government. In other countries, the United States, Russia, or China would directly intervene in wars. Some of the wars where the United States sent their own meant to sacrifice their lives for the cause of democracy included the , and Vietnam. In both of these wars, the United States suffered heavy casualties. Through the United States and Russia were directly or indirectly involved in nearly every military Cold War Conflict, neither side ever formally declared war on the other or not face to face on the battlefield.

Vietnam. Vietnam was one of the bloodiest and costly battles of the Cold War, and a war in which the United States ultimately lost. At the conclusion of this war, Vietnam because the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, a communist country. This war marked one of the saddest times in American history, where the American soldiers came home defeated and cast in an un heroic light. President Lyndon Johnson was labeled as the only President ever to lose an American War. Though the American and Soviets did not square off in this war, the Soviets did provide arms to the North Vietnamese. During the offensive, the war crossed borders and seas and fighting continue into Cambodia and Laos. Many paintball scenario games feature military conflicts from the Cold War.
