Low Impact Games
Low Impact Games is a new series of paintball games that use lower speed projectiles for elimination shots. Low Impact Games use slower velocity paintballs, as well as balls designed to stick to specialty vests, and even markers that don't shoot projectiles at all. Laser tag games use guns that don't shoot projectiles at all but when you laser shoot sensors that are worn over a players clothes. While field size and ammo materials vary in these low impact games, are constant in hits that are less painful and leave less bruising. These low impact paintball games have developed mainstream following among mothers and party event planners who want to show a group a good time but want to see their friends, family and co-workers come away free of cuts and bruises. While these games as played with lower velocity ammo, safety precautions must still be adhered to.
Low Impact Games serve to bring in new audiences to the sport of paintball and shooter-tag games. These less painful games have brought in players scared of getting stung by paintballs coming in at bruise producing speeds. And these games have brought in mothers looking to plan for their son's or daughter's birthday party and want to sponsor fun and safe events. There are new lines of low impact games that are portable, and can be transported and easily assembled at team building, party, and birthday party events. Many of these low impact games are even designed to be set up the back yards of homes. Some of these Low Impact Games mini-arenas are even inflatable with surrounding netting. Inflatable mini-arenas with netting are good because they keep the paintballs or other ammo in, and out of the harms way of bystanders. Note that all mini-arenas and shooter tag gatherings must be played while exercising all safety precautions described by the manufacture.

Low Impact Games are played in several forms including shooter tag, air soft, paintball, milsim, marker-ball, foam-ball, bunker-ball, snap-shooter, (one-on-one and two-on-two) quick draw, and even outdoor laser tag and indoor laser tag. All of these divisions of low impact games have brought new audiences to the sport of shooter tag games.
Low Impact Games that use paintballs use a much lower caliber. While in traditional games a .68 caliber paintball is used, low impact games use a .55 caliber. These Low Impact Games have spawned a whole new line of paintguns specifically designed to shoot .55 caliber rounds. While these rounds hit players at much slower rates of speed, safety precautions must be adhered to. First, players must still use ASTM compliant goggle systems, a chronograph, referees, and standardized systems for field operations and procedures. Players of these new .55 caliber games should still war shoes that protect the ankles, long sleeves, and along shirt.
