Paintdog
A paintdog is a paintball veteran who knows the game of paintball backwards and forwards. A paintdog is a paintball player who has been in the game for along time, has all the right gear, and is well versed in tournament play. A paintdog knows all of the universal calls, game rules and how to load their weapon at heart-throbbing speeds. A paintdog knows their own equipment backwards and forwards, and has a knowledge of products and parts in the paintball market. A paintdog also understands all the rules of the game, such as chronograph speed limits and knows all of the key paintball terms, such as shooting hot, calling a paintcheck, Take the Wire, Capture the Flag, Splatter, Dead Man, Bounced, and Dead Man's Walk. To become a paintdog means that you have learned all the aspects of the sport of paintball, know how to use all of your equipment properly, and play with confidence on the paintball field. This article lists some good pointers towards becoming a paintdog.
What to Wear. To become an accepted veteran paintdog, you must dress the part. You will be laughed off the field or end up in a world of pain if you show up in shorts and a T-Shirt. At a minimum, you must wear long sleeve shirts and pants, and a head protection system that protects the eyes, ears, and face. It helps to have a head protection system because as separate units, a paintball impact could possibly dislodge the two, creating an opening for another impact to break through to the face.

A good paintball outfit will consist of long pants and a long sleeved shirt. In general, the body should be covered up as much as possible as paintballs fly at high velocities. Popular paintball clothing includes camouflage pants with camouflage long sleeved shirts. Army surplus stores and local surplus stores are popular places for picking up camouflaged clothing. Hiking boots are the foot wear of choice for the veteran paintdog. Hiking boots protect players from sprained ankles, the most common paintball injury.
Courage and Confidence. If you act confident, you are already halfway towards becoming a paintdog. Paintball veterans know that they belong on the field. A paintdog can quickly scan a field and formulate strategies and formations. A confident paintdog has the trust of his teammates and shows leadership on the field. While you should not expect to become a paintdog veteran overnight, you should walk the field confident that you will provide the opposition with a tough challenge and give them a run for their money.
Paintball Guns N' Gear. It is important for you to know the field that you are playing on. If you are playing in competitive games or tournaments, walk the field before the games start. Study the material spots you will be using for cover or the inflatable bunkers to figure out what angles you can use to gain a competitive advantage. Learn how to develop team strategies that you will use in the game. A paintdog knows the first move that they are going to make as soon as the game starts as well as that of their teammates.
Also, know thy paintball gun. Before its game test your paintball gun to find out how accurate it is.
