Deutsch Paintball Liga - DPL
Paintball has emerged from its humble beginnings in New York and New Hampshire to become a global sport. Paintball was just much too fun and much too exciting to be contained to America. Today the sport is played all around the world, with leagues and championship matches in England, France, Norway, Brazil, Germany, and almost anywhere paintball players inhabit. Today, some of the best tournament matches are played in Deutsch Paintball Liga - DPL. The Deutsche Paintball Liga has matches that are played in a number of different formats, including the 3-Man, 5-Man, Regionalliga, and Bundesliga. The Deutsche Paintball Liga also known as the DPL or the Dutch Paintball League. The DPL is a successful series that has drawn some of the industry's biggest sponsors, such as Paintball Park - Eifel, Colorewm, and Maxx Sport.
Over 200 teams compete for a coveted #1 ranking in the DPL's many divisions. In the first Bundesliga division, the Vipers, Ramstein Instinct, Daltons, Comin At Ya, and All stars Cologne 1 have squared off in some apocalyptic matches. In the second Bundesliga division, Frontline, Consilium Dei 2, Cologne Predators 1, 2DIE4 Temples, and 2DIE4 Fightclub NR6 have all squared off against one another. In the Regionalliga Nord division, X-Infernum, Conxian 2, Beesbox, BadBallz, Dipsticks, and the Ironwolves have competed for the number 1 ranking in 2006-2007 tournaments. The Ost Regionalliga has some awe inspiring matachups from teams like reader of Rebirth Berlin, Muchachos, and Koma. There have been some memorable paintball skirmishes in the Stud Regionaliga between teams like the Spankers, Vienna Devils, Unbreakable, Ohio United, Freak Show, and PSUI.
Between 2005 - 2007, Europe saw some of the best paintball being played in the 6 divisions of the 5-man. The 6 divisions of the 5-Man include the Nord, Ost, Sudost, Sudwest, West, and Mitte. The 5-man Mitte divisions features some of the game's most colorful teams. In 2007, the Mite division teams included Deus Ex, Unskilled, Unlimited 1, Saints, Red Flash, MIB, Lost Boys 2, Inmate 1, and Flying Colors. The teams from the Sudost 5-Man are patient and relentless, and expect to win every game that they play. The Sudost division is comprised of the Woohhome Wankers, Straightflush, and Dark Knights.
DPL is a dynamic series with events hosted by cities all over Denmark. Some of the sights of Deutsch Paintball Liga games include Oberhaid, Wolfsburg, Solms, Lubeck, Bruchsal, and Lease. Other European leagues in the region include the Northern European Series and the Millennium Series. The Northern European Series have tournament matches in Stockholm, Helsingborg, Skara, Varberg, and Flen.
