Paintball Leagues
There are over twenty major paintball Leagues around the United States and outside the U.S. In the U.S., there are a number of U.S. Regional Leagues, including the Carolina Field Owners Association, the New York XBall League, and the Global Paintball League. There are also a number of National U.S. leagues that have teams from all over the United States. There are even a number of paintball Leagues outside the U.S., including the Finnish Paintball Federation, and the MR Series based out of Alberta, Canada. The Mr Series host a number of national Canadian paintball events, including the Canadian National Speedball Championships. These speedball championships have almost 75 teams competing in 5 man speedball events. National sponsors for these events include PMI Paintball, Proto Paintball, and Evil Paintball.
U.S. Regional Leagues
New England Paintball League, NEPL. The New England Paintball League hosts most of its events in the New England states which include Maine, New Hampshire, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, and Connecticut. NEPL www.theppl.com events include Cape Cod Paintball Tournaments April 2 and May 7th 2006 at Cape Cod Paintball and speedball paintball events at Birch Hill Paintball June 11th, 2006.
In the Southeast U.S., the Carolina Field Owners Association CFOA host southern tournaments like the CFOA 5-man events, the CFOA Ball events, the Paintball Central PBC 3-man, and the CFOA Tennessee Championships. The CFOA 5-man circuit will host a number of league events in 2007, including the Dixie Cup that Classic Paintball, the River Jam at Insane Paintball, and the Blue Ridge Roundup at The Alternatives Sport.
New York Xball League NYXL. The NYXL is another league that hosts games in the New York City and New Jersey area. The New York XBall League has a website that includes a question and answer forum and blog, league standings, upcoming events, and action shots from previous tournaments. Current NYXL teams include the Attica Distortion and the Niagara Falls Revolution in the Western Conference, the Camillus TNT and the Onondaga Drinkin' Buddies in the Central Conference, and the Brooklyn Extreme and the New York United in the Eastern Conference.
Located on the left side of the United States, the Xtreme Paintball Sports League XPSL hosts most of their games on the West Coast and California. The XPSL has an official site where people can register for events using their ID cards so that they can choose events based on their player rankings. Upcoming 2007 XPSL events include the Southern Cal Championship in Southern California and Las Vegas, games in Fresno California on September 7-9th, and XPSL games at the Kern County Fairgrounds February 16-18th in Bakersfield California. Sponsors for XPSL events include Khrome Paintball and Paintballerz, who specialize in T-shirts and paintball gear.
U.S. National League's
National Professional Paintball League NPPL. The NPPL is one of the biggest Leagues, and its events are often featured in monthly magazine publications like Paintball 2Xtremes and Facefull.
Paintball Leagues outside the USA include the Mexico XBall Leagues Series MXBall3.
