OPPL | Paintball League
The OPPL Paintball League is also known as the Ontario Paintball Players League, and is one of several franchises in Canada that puts together competitive games. Other Canadian paintball leagues include the CXBL, BC Tactical, and the MR Series. The OPPL is sponsored by ZAP Paintball, the makers of products such as paintball clothing, markers, marker accessories, and paintballs. Zap paintballs have thick fills that exceed expectations on the recreational, Woodsball, and speedball field. Some of Zaps paintball brands available include the Zap Extreme Sportz, Vapor, AMP, Spank, Cryptic, Terk, Chronic, and Chronic Pro. Zap also sponsor tournaments from paintball leagues such as the Houston Rookie League, Xtreme Paintball Sports League, and National Professional Paintball League.
The OPPL has several big games that are played throughout the year, and often has its biggest events written about in magazines like Action Pursuit Games and Paintball 2 Xtremes. The OPPL is one of more than 50 paintball leagues outside the United States. Other leagues outside the continental U.S. include the NPL, Paintball Association, Nz Paintball, and the CSPO.

Canadian Leagues like the OPPL have helped to provide competitive, memorable matches for teams such as the Canadian Bacon Paintball Team, BC Tactical Paintball Team, and O.D.B. Paintball. O.D.B. Paintball are based out of Newfoundland Canada and operate under the team mantra "it takes a lot of balls to play paintball with us." Fans of the O.D.B. paintball team can log onto their website to read about their team history, roster, and action shots from recent games. O.D.B. was led by paintball greats like Robbie Pinsent, Paul Snook, Danny Allused, and Joe Lockyer in 2006-2007. Joe Lockyer has is own unique mantra that represents his playing and life philosophy that "the meek shall inherit nothing." Lockyer plays as he preaches, battling opposing players with tenacity from the front and Mid Front player positions. O.D.B. are proactive and current on the maintenance of their website, www.odbpaintball.ca, with constant updates of event results and action photos from previous games.
The popular XBall format has spread from the borders of the U.S. (are there any laws against this) to electrify players and teams internationally. The CXBL, or Canadian Xtreme Paintball League has a number of events that go on throughout the spring and summer. The CXBL website, cbl.ca, is fully dynamic, with features such as a live scoreboard that post the results of the games within minutes or hours of the action. The CXBL has three main divisions: the CXBL, MXL, and CX4. Within each division, there is a Western Conference, Central Conference, and Eastern Conference.
