The National Intercollegiate Tournament League
The National Intercollegiate Tournament League is one of a number of paintball leagues in the United States and abroad. Other big leagues include the New England Paintball League, P8ce Series, Ohio Captain's Council, and the Paintball Fun Monthly League. The National Intercollegiate Tournament League is a great opportunity for paintball players to compete in paintball games at the interscholastic level. There are so many reasons why the National Intercollegiate Tournament League (NCPA) is an asset to players of high school and college age. A standardized league for student athletes goes a long way to show the parents of students that paintball is a legitimate and safety regulated sport that can add to the development of players as their bodies and mind grow. The NCPA brings games close to the schools where the paintball players live and learn, and it has a whole network set up that aids players with other educational opportunities. Because the NCPA has so much experience promoting the sport and in avenues such as charity events and recruitment drives, they can help college and high school teams to put together functions that will help with educational costs and travel expenses for paintball games.
The NCPA is an all-volunteer, non-profit organization created by college players to promote paintball at the interscholastic level. Because paintball is not a sport that is usually run out of a high school's or a college's athletic program, paintball players do not usually have the same resources available to them that other athletes would have in the more traditional sports. These resources that paintball players miss out on include bussing and plane fare for travel, uniforms provided by the athletic departments, and free play for field use. Paintball players must pay for all their own equipment (paintball guns) and field use, travel at their own expense, and come up with the registration fees for tournaments. The National Collegiate Paintball Association does what it can to teach players of all ages the fundamentals of the game and lessen the costs of participation in paintball tournaments.

The NCPA has many programs each year to educate people outside the sport on the positive impact of paintball on young minds, and they even have several scholarship programs available. In a partnership between the NCPA and JT USA, they have put together a JT Sports "Paintball in the Community" Scholarship. This program will award over $5,000 in scholarships to worthy players who have contributed towards elevating the public's perception of the game, and have been excellent students. The NCPA also has programs to support student athletes at the college level. The Brass Eagle "Paintball in the Community" scholarship will award $5,000 in scholarships to incoming freshman who have made a positive impact on society through community service activities as well as a positive impact on the game of paintball. Brass Eagle manufactures products such as the Afterburner mechanical marker, Striker Pro 4-Pax Packs, Blue Streak Paintballs, and Monster Balls paintballs.
Some major NCPA events of 2007 will include the NCPA National Championships at Xdrenalin Zone Paintball.
