German X5 Series
The German X5 Series is one of several internationals speedball tournament series that uses Sup'Airball inflatable bunkers. The German X5 Series is an annual event that continues to improve as a competitive paintball event and as a fan friendly series. This series is one of the premier German seasonal tournament programs, and offers generous prizes to the winning programs that fight hard to score top rankings. There is nonstop action in German X5 Series matches. Though the series is headquartered out of Germany, it is an international event, with teams from 6 different countries, and athletes from more than 10 countries. The X5 Championship Series is owned and operated by Run Thru Sports Promotions, who are based out of Waldens Germany.
The X5 Series has the technology to bring the results of games and tournament coverage to the fans in real time, with a live ticker at www.pbportal.de. The X5 is a well known international event, with televised matches and game footage and reviewes making their way into prominent paintball magazines. Most of the big X5 events feature tradeshows from the leading providers of paintball gear. Some companies that arm tournament players with the gear they need the include Blackpoint Engineering, Critical Paintball, Components Concepts Inc., Dead On Paintball, and Adrenaline Products. The X5 Pro Division has a maximum of 12 teams per division. The games are played Round Robin style, meaning that there are 5 consecutive days of tournaments action, and 66 encounters between teams. The Round Robin style format is the stand for the made professional teams. The Non-admitted players and teams play the open style for the open X5 professional. The X5 probe tournament series have a great media presence, with cameras and mic's in the coach boxes to record reactions from the players and coaches on the sidelines, and to film reactions to the game's events from the coaches and players. The field layout for X5 Pro matches can be seen and downloaded on the German X5 Series website within 10 days of the event.
X5 Pro stands for the professional division of the X5 Championship Series. X5 Am stands for the X5 Amateur. The X5Am also has a maximum of 12 teams per division. The Mode Professional for the X5 Am is also Round Robin (666 encounters) played on 5 consecutive tournament days. The X5 Am has visiting or non-admitted players and teams from several international paintball leagues. The X5 Am has competing teams from PSP NXL, and the Open Xball division 1, NPPL Pro Division, Semi-pro division 1, and the Millennium Series SPL, CPL.
Teams from the X5 professional compete for some eye-opening cash and trophies. The teams with the top 4 rankings get championship trophies. The teams with the top four rankings receive a cash prize: $500.00 for fourth place, $2,000.00 for second, $3,500.00 for third, $6,000.00 for fourth.
