Paintball Asia League Series | PALS
Paintball is a sport that began in the USA but has found a home in nearly every country across the globe. Due to the popularity of sport, and market for competitive games, paintball leagues have been created to provide this format for serious players. Some of the world's most prominent leagues include the FPS Ligue Super of France, Paintball Sports Promotions of the United States, and Paintball Asia League Series of Asia. The Paintball Asia League Series is known as the PALS. The PALS circuit is ambitious, reaching into the many countries across Asia. Some of the countries hosting PALS games include Malaysia, Japan, and Taiwan. The Paintball Asia League series is led by its board members composed of Paul Wy Lam, Haniff Dato' Mahmood, and Y.A.M. Raja Rashid of Malaysia.
The same things that make paintball so exciting to young Americans make paintball irresistible in Asia as well. Paintball today is one of the 4 most popular alternative sports in the world, and is a perfect fusion of technology, team sports, and adrenaline pumping action. In a very short period of time, the sport swept across the U.S. from one ocean to the other, and across Asia as well. Some of this growing popularity have included Tama Rec Paintball of Japan, TT Sports Park of Malaysia, and Paintball HQ of Hong Kong. The list of players who buy paintball guns and play the game continues to grow every year, and leagues like the PALS have been created to accommodate the need for competitive games. As the sport continues to grow, the number of players who participate in these games grows with the sport, and the game has diversified to meet everyone's individual interest. Some players who started playing the games in the woods and in their own backyards want to keep playing in these rustic and stealthy environments. For players like these who want to play competitive games in natural conditions, there is the North American Woodsball League. Still other players want to play fast games with a lot of action. These types of games are called speedball, and the fields are smaller, level, and include inflatable bunkers. The Paintball Asia League Series has games that are played in the speedball format.

The PALS is a generously sponsored league, and enjoys the support of industry giants such as Wanntay, W6P Paintball, Kingman, Facefull, school, and Spyder. Some of Spyder's best products include the Java Compact Deluxe, Spyder TL-X, Spyder Xtra, Spyder Imagine, and Spyder Electra Dx. Pals league is made up of three divisions. Like other leagues, a team's season rankings are determined by their cumulative scores from league games that are hosted throughout the year. In Division 1 action, the first three major Pals events were hosted in Taiwan, Bangkok, and the World Cup Asia. As of April 16th 2007, the top three ranked teams of the 2007 season were Datis of Iran, Shocker of Taiwan ROC, and the Infernal of Thailand.
