Indoor Paintball
While the sport of outdoor paintball has been growing for over 25 years, the game of indoor paintball has an energizing popularity. The sport of indoor paintball is becoming popular for a number of reasons. First, while the outdoor version may be the most ideal place for the sport, weather conditions prohibit the game from being played year round. At certain temperatures, the CO2 & N2 tanks that power your marker become unreliable and eventually stop firing. Also, indoor paintball may be a viable alternative in conditions like rain, thunderstorm, and foal weather.
While many of the rules between in indoor paintball and outdoor paintball are the same, there are some subtle differences. The first is the noise level. Indoor fields often have an echo, and that the sound of gun shots inside is very load. If you are concerned that the noise level inside may hurt your ears, than you should use earplugs. Usually, the noise feel in indoor paintball fields is not sufficient enough to cause hearing damage.

Of all the differences in field conditions between the two venues, the size of the field is the most obvious. While outdoor and woodsball fields are often very large, the fields indoors are comparatively smaller. As a result, the players are usually much closer together, and all the action is in a much smaller area. The bunkers are much closer together, and you don't have to travel far to get within range of an opposing player. Usually players are within shooting range of each other even right at the beginning of the game. In indoor paintball matches begins right at the game on! Signal, even as players scramble for the nearest bunker.
While the size and surroundings of the two types of fields may vary, many of the same rules are still the same. For instance, team play, aggressive play, and knowing the field dimensions ahead of time will help you in all venues. No matter where you are players, players must know where they plan to go right at the start signal and must gain as much ground up the field as possible right out of the gates. While patience is often a virtue in sports and paintball, it is essential that you get to the farthest from the base right at the Game On! Signal.
