Definitions - Paintball Terms & Definitions
- Tapeline - The left and right field boundaries. The Tapeline is also called "the wire". There are even player positions called the tape runners that refer to their positions on the field. The Tape Runner usually takes the most aggressive position on the field.
- Tube, Paintball - A small to large tube that can carry as many as 40 paintballs.
- Tank (Chilled) - a chilled tank that becomes extremely cold due to rapid pressure loss. This may be caused by vary rapid firing or by suddenly releasing the remaining gas pressure in a tank. (Note that a tank must be chilled before it can be filled by Co2.)
- Tank (Constant Air) - A Constant Air Tank includes a container (bottle or valve) for holding gas propellant for a paintball marker.
- Tank (Anti-siphon) - An Anti-Siphon tank is designed to allow only vaporous Co2 to exit through the valve.
- Tank (Siphon) - A Siphon Tank is designed to draw liquid Co2 from the bottom of the tank. This is accomplished with a gas line attached to the back of the tank valve. The other end of the line is weighted so that remains located in the bottom of the tank.
- Thread Saver - Also known as a Bottle Cap. A Thread Saver is a protective cap that screws onto a tank valve. This keeps the valve from being damaged when not in use.
- Tank - Containers that hold the gas that powers paintball markers. In most cases the tank is screwed directly onto the marker. However, some players use a coiled hose that allows them to carry the tank on another part of their body, thus removing extra weight from their body. (see Remote)
- Tape Man - Player who lane shoots the tape sides of the field.
- Timmy - Slang for Bob Long Intimidator marker.
- Tourney Play - This include competitive paintball play at the tournament level. Some tournament circuits that offer thrilling Tourney Play include Paintball Sports Promotions, the PanAm Circuit, and the NPPL.
- Tool, Velocity Adjusting - A Velocity Adjusting Tool is also called on Adjusting tool. This tool is used specifically for adjusting the velocity of a paint gun. Velocity adjusting tools are not usually allowed onto a playing field or part of a player's gear, as this will ensure that players will not increase a markers velocity within games.
- Timing - The time between the firing of the marker and the re-cocking. On most high-end markers, this is an adjustable interval.
- Tactical Light - A small flashlight connected to the paintball marker for nighttime play. These lights can either be left on at all times during play, or turned on when needed by depressing a button close to the grip of the marker.
- Terminator - A type of player in scenario paintball where the only way this player can be considered eliminated is by being shot in a small square on the person's chest and back. Inspired by the famous movie trilogy, this player is considered almost invulnerable to normal paintball shots.
- Tricked Out - A term used to describe a marker with numerous upgrades and enhancements.
- Throwing Ropes - Firing your marker at high rates of speeds. This tactic is called Laning and is usually considered illegal if marker speeds exceed 275-300 fps.
- Turbo - A term used to describe a marker that fires 1.5 balls per trigger pull.
