K - Paintball Terms & Definitions
- Kamikaze - Kamikaze is also known as running the gauntlet. A kamikaze is a crazed charged down the field and towards the opposition with little regard for their own protection in regard to getting eliminated. A Kamikaze charge is an attempt for the charging player to take out as many players as he can before getting eliminated himself.
- Kill - Kill is another term players use to describe one player eliminating another. Taking another player out of a game has been referred to as eliminating, marking, and tagging. Kill as a noun can also refer to the number of players another player eliminated in a game. One player may say that they killed 5 opposing players in a single game, meaning that they eliminated 5 players.
- Key - as a verb, it means shooting through a lane. A lane is an open area in a field where there is a lot of traffic. A lane is an area of the field where opposing players will often be traveling through. One high traffic area will usually include the space between primary and secondary bunkers. A primary bunker is the first bunker that a player will attempt to move to off the break. A secondary bunker is the next bunker that a player will attempt to move to after the primary bunker.
- King of the Mountain (Paintball Game) - King of the Mountain is a paintball game with required props that include a stopwatch, air horn, and a single post. This is a multiple-team game where all teams compete to conquer the hill. In this game players are broken up into two to five player; equally sized teams who start the game about 75-100 feet from the center of the field. 1 post and an air horn are placed at the center of the field, and when the game starts, each team will attempt to reach the post first. The first team to reach the post blows the air horn, making the referee start the times of the stopwatch. If the team reaching the post first is able to hold the location for a certain period of time, they then win the game. - King of the Mountain - Conqueror (paintball game) - King of the Mountain: Conqueror, the objective of the game is points related as opposed to trying to hold the hill for a certain period of time like in King of the Mountain. The set up of the game includes a ball of string, 1 post, and one small can. The set up officials find a high ground on a paintball field where he plants a post and ties a 2 foot string to the top of it.
