Spy - Paintball Games
Spy is definitely one of the most unique paintball games. In the game spy, players from a given team play together, with the exception of a spy in the group whose job it is to kill the captain. The team that tags out the captain wins, whether the hit comes form the spy or the member of the opposing team. There are no flags or trophies in this event, the goal of the game is to eliminate the player that is designated the captain. The captains identity is known, while the spy does not reveal himself until the end of the game. Each team and captain play the entire game not knowing who the spy in the group is.
The Game Rules/Procedures. Each team is built with two teams of equal players. Each game lasts 30 minutes. The setup of the game is similar to classic games, with two teams of equal strength starting the game from two opposite ends of the field. Player positions are drawn from a hat. The player who draws #1 is the captain, and is given 2 armbands so that his identify is known to all. The player that draws #7 is the designated spy. The identify of the spy remains unknown, until he reveals himself later. Eliminating the captain is the target of the spy and the members of the opposing team, excluding the spy. The spy can turn on the captain at any time after a 1 minute warning is given at the start of the game. The game can be won in one of two ways. A team wins if they eliminate the enemy captain. If a spy eliminates the leader of his own team, the opposing team wins.

Spy paintball games are very unique as it is one of the only paintball games where you don't know who is supporting you towards your team's cause, and who is against you. But there are other paintball games where players compete for individual points or goals, like bunny hunt. In the game bunny hunt, one player is the bunny, while all the other players must try to hunt down, and kill the bunny. In this game, we use the term kill and eliminate interchangeably. Bunny hunt games have a given time duration, which is usually 20 minutes. The goal of the game for the bunny is to survive until the end of the game, and the goal of the game for the hunter is to kill the bunny.
There are other games, like shoot the captain, where the objective of the match is to take out the other team's captain. Like the game spy, the shoot the game features a captain whose identity is clearly known, and another team who is trying to eliminate the captain. Like spy paintball games, the game starts with two teams of equal strength beginning the game at their respective flag stations. There are a number of variations to this game, all designed to give the captain a distinct advantage or disadvantage. In one version the captain's master is tied to a 20 foot rope, and he can leave the flag station but leave his marker behind. In the second version, the captain is tethered to the rope, and he must battle for survival. In the third version, the captain has unlimited paint to shoot, while the other players only have 20 paintballs. Like the game spy, the object of the game is to eliminate the captain.
