Shoot the Captain - Paintball Games
Shoot the Captain is an interesting version of the Capture the Flag format where the object for capturing is the captain. In this game, the team that wins is the one that eliminates that other team's captain. Shoot the Captain games are usually 30 minutes in duration. Like traditional Capture the Flag games, there are two teams that start out opposite sides of the field on two starting stations that are in or next to two flag stations. Only in this game, the captain is the flag or the object of elimination. To make the games more interesting, there are a number of twist to this exciting paintball game format. In one version, the captain is tied to one end of a 20 foot rope, and the ropes other end is tied to an anchored object such as the pole at the flat station, a fence post, or a tree. The captain can take evasive action to avoid enemy fire, but must remain tethered to the rope.
In another version of the shoot the captain game, the captain has free range, but his marker is the tethered object. The captain can lay down his marker and leave the flag station, but he will do so unarmed. The unarmed captain may return to his flag station to pick up his weapon, but he may not borrow the gun of one of his teammates, or pick up the gun of an eliminated player. The eliminated teammate must take his gun with him as he leaves the field.

n a third variation of the shoot the captain game, the captain has an unlimited supply of paint while his teammates are only allotted 20 paintballs a piece each. Non-captain players are not allowed to borrow paintballs from each other or from the captain. In all of these games, the object of shoot the captain is to eliminate the opposing team's captain.
Shoot the captain games, and other flag captain games are popular on paintball fields including Skyline Paintball in Starsburg, Virginia, SplatBrothers Paintball in Chesterfield, Virginia and Official Paintball Games of Texas in Forney, Texas. Duel. The duel is one paintball game that is inspired by legendary duels like those between Aaron Burr and Alexander Hamilton. In a duel, the weapon of choice is always the paintball pistol. A paintball duel involves two players, each brandishing only a paintball pistol that has a single paintball in the chamber. Duel games are usually very short because each player has only one paintball to fire. Most duels take no longer than 15 seconds. The duel involves two players and a warden to enforce the rules and shoot down any player breaking these rules. Both duelints are required to carry the same type of pistol, armed with the same type of paint.
At the start of the duel, the two players stand back to back. The warden then counts off from one to ten, with each player taking one step in the opposite direction for each single count. At the count of ten, the players turn and fire. If neither player makes a hit, then the duel is a draw. If one player makes a hit, then the player hit is the loser. If both players are eliminated, then the first player to be tagged is the loser. In the game of duel, the weapon in use is the pistol, while the shoot the captain gun is the semi-automatic marker.
