Paintball Games
In the beginning there was the survival game, where everyone shoots at each other until everyone else was eliminated. The survival game morphed into the first game of capture the flag, where the goal was to capture each color flag without getting hit with a paintball. Later capture the flag game featured two flag stations, with players on two sides facing off and trying to steal each others flag and try to bring it back to its home base. The game has diversified and changed so much to include nearly fifty types of games and formats. For a partial list, check out our latest article.
Charge of the Light Brigade. This game has two teams and two flag stations, where each team takes their own flag to try to bring it across the field and hang it at the opposing flag station.
Shoot the Captain. The captain is tethered to the flag station, and each team tries to take out the other team's captain.
Duel. This is when two players use a paintball pistol, and take ten paces, only to turn around and fire a single paintball at the other.
Attack and Defend. A game where an attacking team must break through a defending teams line of defense and accomplish an objective once inside.

Annihilator. A game with more than two teams where a point is scored for an elimination of a player on any opposing team.
Blackjack. A simple capture the flag game, but where each player is only allowed 21 paintballs.
Bunny Hunt. A game where one player, the bunny, must survive elimination by paintball packing hunters who try to eliminate the bunny.
Recon. This game is played with multiple five-man teams, where teams must grab a flag and gun, and are awarded for flags and guns received at the checkpoint.
Ghettysburg. This a basic capture the flag format but where players can't use bulk loaders for paintballs, and the paintballs must be loaded into the hopper, one by one, by hand.
Down But Not Out. This game has a basic capture the flat format, but where tagged players can rise from where they were hit, and come back into the game if tagged in by a teammate.
Paintburner. This game has no specific objective, but it is fun. To start the game, a number of three man teams enter the game. When an eliminated player is eliminated, he goes to a holding area. When 3 players fill up the holding area, they go into the game together as a 3 man team.
Reinforcements. A game with a capture the flag format. When players are eliminated they have to go to a reinforcement area. One player wearing an arm band can go into the reinforcement area and bring them back into the game.
Kick the Bucket. Like capture the flag, only one team goes into the opposing teams flag station and kids over the bucket to win the game.
