Overnight Game is a game that is played all day and into the night, and can be formed around any other game variation. Overnight may or many not be similar to the Big Game and other scenario games where the paintball games can last multiple days. For the Overnight Game to go off successfully, the host field must have the necessary accommodations needed to sustain an overnight stay for a lot of players. Most Overnight Games require players to compete in paintball games well into the night, so the complex must have food, plumbing, and indoor or outdoor lodging. Overnight games usually have a large number of players involved, and the games are broken up into many smaller games that each have a unique objective associated with them. The Overnight Game will have several games that are played in the daytime, as well as a number of additional games that are played into the night. In some Overnight Games, players compete during the day and all night, with a winner decided in the early morning. In other Overnight Games, players battle in some games during night paintball, rest until the morning, and continue playing the next day.
Because the Overnight Game involves so many people and so many hours of game time, the staff and referees who host these games must have enough people to run the events and enough air and equipment to keep the games running smoothly. Since these games are so long, players will not be able to play the whole event on one tank of gas, so there should be some fill stations nearby that players can use as needed. Overnight Games must be played on paintball fields or stadiums that have the right accommodations for night paintball. These fields must either be well lit, or all the players participating must have night vision technology.
