One Player Duel - Paintball Games
One player Duel has some of the same characteristics of reach for the top, and some of the same qualities as duel. Like reach for the top, one player duel is a three round game, with a minimum number of targets that a player must hit to make it to the next round. And like the game duel, the player is told to walk a number of paces before he is to turn around and fire at a selected target. In duel, the selected target is a single opposing player. In one player duel, the target is an object chosen by the game official. All paintball games, including the ones described in this article, are designed to sharpen a player's marksmanship and accuracy. The paintball games in this section teach individuals how to win as a team, and the individual skill-building games teach players to aim and shoot in short order. As you learn to back up your other teammates, and to become a more precise shooter, your game will really start to get noticed by others in paintball.
One Playing Duel - The Game Rules/Procedures - Each one player duel exercise requires one player and one target. Players take turns in this drill, one after the other. The drill starts with one player with his back to the target. The game official begins to count off numbers, with the player walking a single pace for each number counted off. The player turns and fires at a target when the official says "fire". The player is only allowed a single shot at the target. When the official says fire, he starts the timer, and stops the timer if the target is hit. If the target is not hit, the round is not counted. The player has 3 chances to hit a target. If a player misses all three chances, then he is disqualified. The player has three passes in the game, where the official chooses at random 3 of 5 pace distances; 10 paces, 5 paces, 3 paces, 8 paces, and 12 paces. Each pass constitutes one round or one chance. A player takes the best time, or the f

astest time between the three passes. A player is eliminated if he does not hit any targets. The objective of the game is to hit all the targets in the fewest turns.
One player duel is a good way for a player to perform a fun skill building exercise while practicing drills that teach him to see the fields in 360° of vision. One early new player mistake is to lock onto one target and focus all of your energy on him, to the detriment of paying attention of everything else going on. This beginner mistake is known as tunnel vision. This game teaches players to be able to turn quickly to lay a good shot towards an opponent. In the big game, the enemy is all around, and you should be ready to defend yourself or eliminate opponents from all directions. Sensing or hearing the footsteps of an opponent behind you and having the skill to spin and fire accurately is a prized asset in tournaments and rec games.
Games like One Player Duel and a Sitting Duck are popular on fields like Paintball Field of Fun in Columbus Ohio, and East Coast paintball in Marlboro New Jersey. Rapid Fire is another game, like One Player Duel, where game officials measure the times of shots fired with a stopwatch.
