Limited Paint Games
Limited-paint games are paintball games where players are limited to the number of paintballs that they can fire at a time, or the number of paintballs that they can fire in a game. There are some games where players can make up for a lack of paintballs and tactical knowledge by shooting hundreds of rounds of paint in a game. Just to survive, the other team must often fire a lot of paintball's back as a counter-offensive. This type of rapid fire shooting in a game may be exciting, but it does not always reflect a well played game, and it can get kind of expensive. A case of paintball's (2000 paintball's) can cost up to $80 for tournament grade stuff, and some players cannot afford to go through so much ammo in one afternoon. A player who wants to conserve the paint that they have often prefer to play limited-paint games. Limited-paint games force players to conserve the paint that they have, as they will not be able to go back to reload, nor will they be able to borrow from their teammates. There are several great paintball brands to choose from if you are looking for a great product. Some great paint brands manufacturers include Severe Paintball and Draxus Paintball/ProCaps.
There are a number of variations of limited-paint games. In one format, players in games are only allowed to carry pump guns for stock-guns. Pump guns and stock-guns are markers where a player must manually pump the gun before they are able to take the next shot. Stock-guns because they must be manually pumped before you can fire the next shot, are only capable of firing one or two paintballs a second. So games where everyone is using stock-guns have a physical barrier in place against constant dumping. Also, most stocks-guns use CO2 Cartridges instead of large air tanks, putting another rapid shooting barrier in place. CO2 cartridges have a much smaller profile than larger CO2 tanks, but they also supply the marker with a lot less airpower. Because CO2 cartridges have a small air capacity, they run out of air quickly. Usually, a CO2 cartridge can fire about 20 paintballs before the operator must replace it. A third rapid-shooting barrier in pump gun games is that pump-gun loaders often hold much less paintballs than autococker markers, and these loaders must often be refilled much more often in games. Some of the faster semi-auto markers include the Powerlyte Hybrid P, System X Vengeance Type X, and the KAPP Tear Drop V2.0 drop-forward.

Hopperball is one of the most famous limited - paint games. In this game, a player is allowed to fill one hopper with 200 paintballs, and that's it. Once a player uses up his 200 rounds in that game he must go on defenseless. Players who are used to going through several pods in games must change their tactics for hopperball. Some limited-paint games allow players a maximum of 100 paintballs to shoot with, and some only allow 40.
