Kick the Bucket - Paintball Games
Kick the Bucket is a fun variation on the capture the flag theme. Kick the bucket is similar to the classical capture the flag theme, but the objective in this game is to kick the opposing team's bucket over. The bucket is placed just under where the flag would be at each team's flag station. The bucket is placed on the ground under where the flag usually hangs. The bucket is placed out in plain view under the flag station, and neither team can put anything over it to hide or conceal it. Also, the bucket cannot be moved by the team trying to defend it. Only a player who has not been eliminated may kick the bucket over. If an eliminated player kicks the bucket over, this score does not count, and then the referee then resets the bucket as quickly as possible. The first team to kick the bucket over wins the game.
The Game Rules/Procedures. The game begins with two teams of equal strength beginning the game from their own flag station. Instead of flags, a bucket is placed on the ground where the flag usually hangs. The bucket should be heavy enough to stay in place in windy condition, but light enough to be easily tipped over. The opposing team may not hide or move the bucket to keep you from kicking it over. Only a live player may kick the bucket over, not a player who has already been tagged. The objective of the game is to kick the opposing team's bucket over.
Kick the bucket is one of a number of popular games that features an objective that does not include the traditional capture the flag format. There are games like paintburner that feature rotating teams that keep spicing up game action, and recon, which is a points game. IN the game recon, individual and team paints are scored for the number of flag stations players from a team can make it to, and special bonus points at the end of the game for teams that can make it to multiple flag stations without getting any of its players eliminated. In the game kick the bucket, the objective of the game is to reach the bucket and kick it over. In the game recon, the objective is for the team to score more points than any other teams. Paintball games with unique themes are popular on fields like CJ's Paintball in Matthews, North Carolina, and Paintball Garage in Hicksville, New York. This article provides a brief description of the game recon, and compares and contrasts it to the popular game, kick the bucket.

Recon is a game that has multiple 5 man teams with one flag station for each team. Each flag station has a flag or ornament not to capture, but to make the station so that every one can see it. This is a points game, with individual and team points that are added up at the end of the game. To score points, each player carries a card that they will mark with a marker provided at each flag station. Each flag station has a different colored marker to color the player cards. Each player has his own card to mark. If a player is eliminated, any points he had accrued at his previous flag stations will be voided. For scoring, each non-eliminated individual will be awarded 1 point for each mark on his card, at each flag station. The team gets a team bonus of 5 points if all the team cards are marked by at least two checkpoints. A team bonus of 5 points is awarded if all players score a mark for each additional flag station after the second flag station. An additional team bonus is awarded if every player scores a mark at every flag station.
Like recon, kick the bucket is a team oriented game where teams try to accomplish team objectives.
