Gettysburg - Paintball Games
The game of Gettysburg, like the game of blackjack, is a simple paintball game where the game is designed around sound game tactics and a limited number of paintballs for shooting. In the game of Gettysburg, players are not limited to the number of paintballs they can carry, but they must load paintballs one by one, into the markers. The players also cannot load another paintball into the markers until they shoot the one in the paintball gun. Like the game of blackjack, this is a paintball game designed around sound game tactics, and making the most out of every shot. This is also a nice economical game where people can play a lot of games without having to worry about buying new paintballs or CO2 all time.
The Game Rules/Procedures. The game format is similar to classic capture the flag, where you must capture the opposing team's flag and return it to your base. The big difference is the way a player is able to use his marker, paint, and accessories. The game begins with two evenly number of teams located next to their two flag stations at opposite ends of the field. There are two flags hung in their respective flag stations.

Each individual player is allowed and marker he wished to carry, and as many paintball as he wishes to carry. One major difference here from other games is that the paintballs may only be carried loose, or in a plastic bag, not in pods, or bulk loaders, or loading tubes. This assures for the fact that all paint will be loaded manually into the marker. Players can only load paintballs by hand, one at a time into their markers, and they cannot load another paintball until they shoot the one in the paintgun. General rules of elimination and player safety apply in this paintball game. Gettysburg usually lasts around 30 minutes. The game is over when one team captures the flag, and returns it to the home base.
Gettysburg is a popular game among some old schoolers who sometimes miss the game the way it used to be played, with each shot meaning something, and players being smart about how they used their ammo. Gettysburg and other popular paintball games are played on U.S. Fields like USA Paintball in Easton, Pennsylvania, and Ballbusters Paintball in Lexington, South Carolina. Today, the game of paintball has become a lot faster, with markers ANS Xtreme, Metro Triangle, and Zap Paintballs traveling as fast as 25 bps. With the game of paintball turning into an arms race, where one player is always trying to one-up the other with a marker that is faster and lighter, it is a refreshing change to have games like blackjack and paintball where players espouse the one shot, one kill philosophy.
Blackjack. Blackjack is another rec paintball game where players are limited in the amount of ammo they can use in a game. Like Gettysburg, blackjack is a game that uses the classic capture the flag format. The game is between two teams that begin the game next to their two respective flag stations. Each player is only allowed 21 paintballs. When a player runs out of paintballs, he is supposed to immediately exit the field, and not influence any game events. This rule is a distinct contract to other paintball games, where players out of paint are not required to leave the field, and can in fact still be a major contributor to their team. A player out of paint can still be a shield for a teammate, or still hold the enemy back if the enemy does not know that he is out of paint.
