Duel - Paintball Games
The paintball game Duel, like Snakes on a Plane, pretty much speaks for itself. Duel is a contest between two grown men who have decided that the town is not big enough for the two of them. Duel is a paintball game between two players each armed with a paintball pistol, who compete in a contest that allows one shot for each player. While the weapon of choice for the templar knight was the sword, and the cowboy brandished the colt peacemaker, the weapon for the duel player is the paintball pistol. For games like these, there are a number of pistols on the market, including the 68Delta by 32 Degrees, and the Zeus62 by Armotech. The game Duel, unlike games with multiple teams like annihilator is short, usually lasting no longer than 20 seconds.
The paintball game duel includes two Clint Eastwood (Dirty Harry era) or John Wayne style players who have decided to settle all of their differences on the paintball field. The game features two duelers, each with one pistol packing a single paintball pellet. Both players are required to carry the same pistol. The only other person involved in the match is the warden, and he is the law. The warden has the authority to shoot at any player breaking the rules of the game.

The game begins with each of the two players standing back to back. The warden stands about ten feet to the side, and the sequence of events begins when the warden counts up from zero. The warden counts from zero to ten and with each number, the two players take a step in the opposite direction. When the warden makes it to ten each player then turns and fires at this opponent. The paintball must hit and break on the opponent for the shot to be included as an elimination. The player who has eliminated the other is the winner of the contest. If both players are eliminated, then the person who got hit first loses. If neither player is eliminated, then the contest is a draw.
The Duel paintball game is pretty straightforward, with few rules, but the rules are enforced visciously. The warden has the authority to shoot down any player that has run afoul of the law. A warden may now down a dueler if he turns before the count of ten has been reached, or if a player dives or lays down to avoid enemy fire. Diving is a cowardly maneuver, and it is not the way Billy the Kid or Dirty Harry would have done it.
The Duel game is unique, compared to other paintball games such as recon, blackjack, and the bunny hunt in that the weapon of choice is the paintball pistol. There are a number of popular paintball pistols or the marker, including the Tac-8 from Tiberius Arms. The Tac-8 is the first paintball gun of its kind to be magazine fed. The Tac-8 is compact and has a size closer to a real pistol than a much larger pistol such as the Zeus G1t from Warsenor. The Tac-8 has an easy to manage system, that allows for an easy removal and cleaning of the barrel in the event of a paint clogging. The pressure and velocity of the Tiberious Arms Tac-8 can be quickly modified from the back of the pistol with an allen wrench.
