Down But Not Out - Paintball Games
Down But Not Out is a cool paintball game where a player can be shot and hit, but tagged back into the game. Most paintball games, like Gettysburg, Recon and Bunny Hunt, are single elimination, but down but not out is one game with an interesting twist, where hit players can be tagged but come back into the game. The objective in this game is to capture the opposing team's flag and return it to your base.
The Game Rules/Procedures. Like the game of blackjack and Gettysburg, the goal of the game is to return the enemy's flag back to the home base. The interesting twist to these games surrounds player eliminations. In this game, when a player is hit, he calls himself out, and lays down or kneels down on the ground. The player then covers the barrel of his marker with a sock as a clear indicator that they are a hit player. Once the sock has been placed over the barrel, he must remain in the same location until tagged back into the game. This is referred to as waiting. While waiting, a teammate may come over at any time to tag him back into the game. At this point, the player may take the sock off the barrel, and come back into the game.

If a waiting player is tagged a second time by an opponent, he is out of the game and must leave the field. A waiting player must remain idle and quiet. A waiting player is prohibited from doing anything that could influence the outcome of the game, including communications with other teammates to disclose opponents locations, or shooting at other players. The barrel sock must remain on throughout the whole waiting period. If a waiting player is convinced that no one is going to come by to tag him, then he can call himself out of the game. Once he calls himself out and rises out of his waiting location he cannot change his mind and then come back in. A hit player has an unlimited number of tags back into the game. Waiting players are not allowed to shoot or be shot at. The game is concluded when one team captures the other's flag and returns it back to their home base.
