Team Elimination | Paintball Games
Team elimination is one of the number of paintball game variations. Paintball is a sport that is played in many different game formats. Some paintball games require a team to capture the enemies flag and bring it across to their home base. Other games require teams to rescue a hostage and bring him back to safety. And in paintball games such as team elimination, teams win the game by eliminating all of the players on the other team. Elimination is one of the oldest paintball games and still endures as a popular format among players on woodsball fields and non-structured settings such as the woods behind the players back yard. In this simple form of the game, two groups of players pick sides and shoot away at each other until only one team is left standing. Paintball games like total elimination, team elimination, and capture the flag have been popular on paintball fields such as Northeast Arkansas Paintball in Jonesboro Arkansas and Glacier Paintball in Columbia Falls, Montana.
Team elimination is a fun game to play, as it is a game format that is simple and that everyone understands. The origin of team elimination goes all the way back to Hayes Noel and the other creators of the game who thought of a creative way for players to hunt each other instead of animal's without getting hurt. The original game was conceived as a survival game. There were no teams in this sport, the last man standing was the winner of the game. In a later version, the first version of capture the flag debuted. In this version of capture the flag, several flags of different colors were spread out over a large field, and the player with the most flags standing at the end of the game was the winner. Players that were shot with a paintball were knocked out of the game and awarded no flags. Both of these early versions of the game were fun but event promoters and game organizers soon found out that the games were more challenging when they involved teams and team objectives or group objectives. Soon, regular tournaments began being held around paintball fields in the United States, and permanent competitive teams began becoming established. The two most popular game formats for competitive tournaments today are speedball and tournament scenario paintball. Some of the most famous scenario teams include Desert Edge in Utah, 1st Mercenary Group in Chicago, and Ambush Alpha in Pennsylvania.

Other Paintball Game Variations. There are too many paintball games to list in any one article, but some of the most thrilling games include Fugitive, Civil War, and Mercenary. Like the game Team Elimination, Mercenary is usually played in the woods. In the game Mercenary, two teams begin on opposite ends of a woods course, far enough away so that they won't be able to see each other at the beginning of the game. Between the two opposing sides, players called mercenaries roam, who can be recruited by the teams who get to them first.
