Tag Up - Paintball Game Variations
Tag Up is a new variation of paintball games where people can come back into games once being tagged out. Tag Up is sometimes called Reincarnation. In this game, players who have taken paintball splatter from a direct hit can come back into the game once they go back to their starting location and tag a certain spot. In most versions of this game, players can go back into the game as soon as they tag up. In other versions of the game Tag Up, players must wait some period of time before they can go back onto the playing field. In the game Penalty Box, players must 5 minutes once they tag up to go back into the game. Paintball games like this are sometimes popular on fields like Hoops Archery and Paintball in Clinton Massachusetts and Havoc Extreme Paintball in Mount Clare West Virginia.
Tag Up is a game variation that can be combined with any other paintball game that does not already have a multiple-elimination format. These games usually have two teams of equal strength, with objectives such as capture the flag or storming the fort. When a player is marked, he must go back to the dead box or wherever he started the game. Once back at his starting location, he must clean off his paint splatter and tag up at a certain location. Once he tags up he is once again a live player.

Tag Up games usually last between 20 and 35 minutes. A player can do anything he needs to do once at his starting location, including topping off his air tank and filling his hopper. This game format is fun for players, especially beginner players who do not want to wait half the day for the next game to come around after being eliminated. In this game, players will not be knocked out of game action simply because they run out of air or paint. They can either go back to the starting point to get refills, or they can get tagged out and replenish supplies once at their starting location. Fill stations that may be available at the starting location may include the Scuba Fill Station from KAPP or the Deluxe CO2 Fill Station from PMI.
Once the paintball game Tag Up begins, the players on a team must try to evenly distribute themselves at both ends of the field. There should always be a few players who guard the starting point, especially if there are opposing players in the area. If one home team's base gets pretty well surrounded, players tagging up are just going to get hit again once returning to the field. Players in this game usually play pretty aggressive because they don't have to worry about final elimination or running out of paintballs. Most players play boldly and shoot a lot of paint. Other fun paintball games to play include Alien Invasion: Mother Ship, Penalty Box, and King of the Mountain.
