Shoot the Groom | Paintball Games
You may have heard of bachelor party paintball or bachelorette party paintball. Shoot the groom is another paintball game variation, but these games involve both the bridal party and the groom party. In this game, the groom to be can pick up any paintball gun that he wants and carry as much paint as he wants. The bridal party all pick up arms as well in have the objective of eliminating the groom. If the odds are stacked up against the groom too much, the groom can enlist the best man or one other groomsman for a wing man. Usually, the groomsman or best man are also pick their choice of markers and carry as much ammo as they need. Popular markers for these type of battles include the Alien Revelation and the Bob Long ECX Intimidator. Because the groom is outnumbered by as much as 10 to 1 he is given a head start at the beginning of the game to hide. Usually the groom and the best man to be get a two minute head start.
To give the groom team a fighting chance, the firepower of the bridal party is limited in some way. Either the bridal party has to play with stock guns, or they are limited in how much paint they can carry in their respective markers. Usually the bridal party are allowed a maximum of 10 to 20 paintballs in their markers and cannot get a refill once they run out of the ammo. The objective of the game is similar to the game Bunny Hunt. The Groom can either win the game by surviving, or he can eliminate all of the players of the other gender. Like the game Bunny Hunt, the time duration is usually 20 - 30 minutes, with the game beginning when the bridesmaids and the rest of the bridal party start hunting down the husband to be and his best man. If the groom to be can manage to survive and not get eliminated until the time expires, then he wins the game. If all the players on the bridal party run out of paintballs, then the groom team also wins the game. If any player manages to tag the groom, then the bridal party wins the game. The bridal team can also declare victory if the groom gives up.

Paintball games such as Shoot the Groom and other bachelor and bachelorette themed games are popular on paintball fields such as Crossfire Paintball in St. Cloud Minnesota, and the NJ Paintball Club in Butler New Jersey. At NJ Paintball Club, they have an abundance of courses and time slots that are available for reservation for private events such as corporate outings, birthday parties, and bachelorette parties. If most of the members of your group have never played the game before, the folks at NJ Paintball take that as positive, welcoming new players into their paintball family. The staff will educate all of their new players until all participants feel safe, and feel good about operating their paint guns.
