Paratrooper | Paintball Game Variations
Paratrooper and other paintball games similar to it can involve more than two teams and is based on team points rather than a singular objective. Most paintball games that feature more than two teams are points based or involving collecting objects from the other team when tagging them. In the game paratrooper, players are paired off into two teams, and each player is given a token (such as a colored arm-band). Each two-player team enters the field one by one, and are given enough time to take a position on the field. Once every team has taken a position the game begins. Every time a player is eliminated he must give his token (armband) to the team that tagged him. The objective of the game is to be the team that has the most tokens at the end of the game. The game is over when the time expires. A team must have one live player still in the game when it is over to win the game. Most Paratrooper paintball games last between 20-40 minutes. Paintball games like these have sometimes been played on paintball fields such as Tektonx Paintball in Henderson Nevada and Westworld Paintball Adventures in Phoenix Nevada.
Paratroopers and other games with more than two teams are points based games, where teams must try to collect trophies on the field or trophies from players on other teams. When the game is over, the teams with the most points for trophies win the game. Usually, a team must have at least one player on the field at the end of the game for its trophies to be valid. Other trophy collecting format games include Prize Collector and Trophy Hunter.

Prize Collector and Trophy Hunter are two paintball games where players try to pick up trophies from other players as the result of eliminating them. In the game Trophy Hunter and Prize Collector the players work for themselves and there are no teams. Most games like these usually last between 20-30 minutes. In the game Trophy Hunter and Prize Collector, the game begins with the players scattered all over the field. Each player has multiple armbands (2 to 4) that they will give up to each player that is able to mark him. These armbands are referred to as prizes or trophies.
The games Prize Collector and Trophy Hunter are played continuously from the beginning to the end of the game with a loud signal or horn being blasted every 5 minutes. The 5 minute signal allows the player that was tagged to come back into the game. In these matches, the game starts with the players scattered all over the fields, hunting each other. One player marks the other, the marked player drops to the ground and gives up a trophy to the person that hit him. The marked player then stays where he is and does not interfere with game action until the next 5 minute signal. The player is back in the game at the next 5 minute signal. The time when the player is tagged until the next 5 minute signal is known as the waiting period. Only one trophy can be taken from a tagged player during the waiting period.
