Football - Paintball Game Variations
In most paintball games with flag props, there are two flags set at opposite ends of the field. Each team begins the game in or near their own flag station and crosses the midline to attempt to capture the other team's flag. In attack and defend games, thee is a single flag in one flag station defended by one team. One team has the objective of guarding the flag, while the other team has the objective of breaking through some fortification to get to that flag. The fortification may be an actual fort, or it may be a line of defenders trying to protect their treasure. The attacking team usually must try to hang the flag that they have captured at the nearest flag station, or they must capture it and move it a certain distance from the flag station.
Football is another game variation where there is only one flag. In the paintball game football, there is one flag set in the middle of the field. Each team starts from opposite sides of the field, the same distance apart from the flag on opposite ends of the field is two flag stations. At the start of the game, each team charges towards the flag. The team/player that gets to the flag first then tries to advance it towards the opposing town's flag station. The objective of the game is to hand the flag at the opposing teams flag station. This game variation gets the name from football because in football, there are two goal lines that each team tires to cross to score points. In the paintball variation, the points are scored when a player carries the flag to the other teams boundary line to raise the flag. In American Football, a team tries to either run or pass their way to the other team's goal line once they gain possession of the ball.

Football has the same rules as capture the flag. There are some variations of paintball football that do not require a flag hand. In this variation, a team only needs to capture the flag, and hold it for a certain period of time. IN this variation, the time of possession is usually 10 to 20 minutes. The time variations of this game is usually used when there are less than 10 people available from both sides to make a team. Some fields that feature rec patinball and special events include Splatter Park and Paintball Dave's Indoor. Like in Arena ball games, most teams choose defined roles for players before games start based on speed and athletic ability. Usually, each team chooses one or two speedy players as the flag grabber and others to provide cover to these players. Possession in the paintball variation and the classic football format is essential, especially in the time of possession games. If the player on your team manages to capture the flag, he can retreat back to a spot where he can be protected by other teammates. The team can then gather their full strength and make an all out advance. The advancing team then try to take out whoever is in their way until they hand the flag at the flag station.
